I have the coolest, most awesome sister ever!
Izzybella and I have been best friends since she was born, 8 years and 3 days after I was. She was the cutest little kid–platinum blonde hair until she got older and it darkened up; big deep blue eyes; and she worshipped the ground I walked on.
When she was a baby, my mother would frequently send me upstairs to go get Izzybella out of her crib. She was not a morning person, even then, and would retreat to the far corner of her crib screaming “No! No! No!” and grabbing chunks of my hair.
Through all the dysfunctional delights of growing up in our home, Izzybella and I were each other’s stalwart supporter.
I’ve had the privilege of working in the same office with her for the last 4 years. We’ve also been going to school for the last few years, and graduated together in August.
All that being said, I’m a total Christmas freak. I love Christmas. I love shopping, decorating, and listening to Christmas music. I’ve had it on at work off and on since early November, but at her request didn’t play it for more than half a day at a time.
This is my last week at this job; I’m leaving to go work for Child Protective Services starting next Monday. This morning my wonderful sister brought me a peppermint hot chocolate from Starbucks and the Barenaked Ladies Christmas CD! (I have a serious thing for the Barenaked Ladies!) Even knowing that I’m probably going to play it over and over all day, and sing and dance all day, she gave me this totally cool CD.
Greater love hath no sister than this!
Thanks, Izzybella!
