Hey everybody. Today, 14Dec, is my sisters birthday, and I thought I’d start a thread for her, just because I’m a goofy loving big brother like that. She’ll be 19 today. I’m so terribly proud of my little sis. She’s accomplished so much in the little time that she’s been here, and is destined to do so much more. It being her birthday and all, I’ll give you a run-down.
-Graduated High School with a 4.25 GPA.
-Scored a 35 on her ACT.
-Was her class president all four years of High School.
-Was president of BETA club.
-Vice president of NHS.
-Played Varsity softball, basketball, and soccer for her High School since she was in 7th Grade.
-Got a full ride academic scholarship to Baylor.
-Got a full ride athletic scholarship to UT, to play basketball, but decided to go to Baylor instead.
-Was Prom Queen “and” Homecoming Queen for junior and senior year.
-And during all this, she still taught Sunday School, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, was a gymnast, and still had time to hang out with her geeky big brother and the rest of the family.
She’s just so cool, or at least I think so. Makes me wonder that if she got all the good looks, the athletic ability, and the brains, what’d I get? Hmmm… I can sing.
But I’m serious. My sister rocks. She’s majoring in Psychology and Sociology. She says she wants to be a child psychiatrist, which again, I think is total coolness. I know. I’m sorry if I sound like a total sap here, but I love my sis to death, and as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of her. So, in honor of her birthday, this is her thread. If I get some replies I might e-mail it to her just to embarrass.
Heck yeah she is, at around 6’4" ((Thanks god he’s taller so he still has at least one-up on her. Sibling rivalry you know)), and though I’m almost ashamed to admit it, she kicks my ass when we play soccer in the back yard. ((She’s yet to beat me at chess though.))
I opened this thread expecting a post about something crappy your sister had done, or maybe about something terrible that happened to her…and found this sweet and loving birthday tribute instead! What a great surprise.
Happy birthday to your sister - and congratulations to her for having such a wonderful brother!
I sent this thread to my sis along with a happy birthday email when I got home from work, and she just called me. She said to tell all of you thanks so much and God Bless you. I’ll say the same. Thanks. You guys are too sweet for words.
It was pretty funny, she agreed that she had a great brother. Totally made my day, and she said I had made hers. She took her last final today ((which she felt pretty good about, and I’m sure she’ll ace)), and is getting ready to head home for Christmas.
