My skirt fell down at work...yippee!

As a few of you know, just over two months ago I had gastric bypass surgery, and so far I have lost just over 50 pounds. Everything I own is baggy and loose, and the other day at work my skirt decided to head south when I reached up to get something off a shelf. Luckily I was in the backroom at the time, and it didn’t make it all the way to the floor, but it made me very giggly all day! I had to take a big tuck in the front waistband and hold it together with a binder clip all day. Thank goodness I wear an apron at work to hide these things, though I forgot all about it eventually and at night when I got undressed and found the binder clip I started laughing again!

I spent all day yesterday looking through my closet for something smaller to wear, and I have nothing work-worthy, so I will have to stick with the elastic-waisted stuff or the two dresses. The thought of going shopping for clothes doesn’t excite me yet, and everything people have given me to wear is casual or jeans, and the clothing exchange at the bariatric center is a joke, so I will have to eventually break down and buy something. I don’t have time to sew anything right now, so maybe tomorrow I will head over to my storage unit and see what I can dig out, though I don’t remember anything decent being packed away.

I like having this problem.

I’m sorry but the commentt has to be made…cite?
Congrats on becoming less of a person.

Were you holding celery?

Well done but I would have let everyone at work know about it. Not only would you get some positive feedback people seem to find it really funny if you use office supplies for clothing repairs. I once fixed an undone stitch on my trouser cuffs with staples and people seemed to think it was hysterical.

Congrats.
A close call with public nudity has probably never felt so good!
Re: needing new clothes—I have a friend who had bariatric surgery a few years ago. While she was on her way down the scale, she never wanted to spend too much on any new clothes because they wouldn’t be fitting her for that long anyhow. She bought a lot of stuff a Goodwill, consignment shops, etc, and either donated or re-sold them when they no longer fit.

Glad you’re enjoying your new body. 50 down! That’s worth a new outfit.

Congratulations! That is fun news. Keep up the great work.

Congrats!

Steer clear of sewer grates. :stuck_out_tongue:

To be honest it was a long way from public nudity…I’m the kind of girl who wears a slip…which proved to be too slippery! And my coworkers know, because I had to come out front to get the binder clip! Actually, I get so much positive feedback it’s almost embarassing.
