Nice, althoughthat joke only works in scratch leagues!
I just want to clarify this- because too many parents don’t know. It’s not a matter of keeping amateur status- it’s a matter of keeping youth eligibility , and possibly (depending on the state) high school and college sports eligibility. I’m an amateur bowler, even though I’ve won money. If my son even enters a tournament that awards money, rather than a scholarship, he can never again bowl in a youth league or tournament.
Well, we both love sushi, but I came up with a better celebration. He is 14, and in the midst of puberty. He has mentioned going to Hooters, but I’ve always laughed it off.
So last night I surprised him and took him to Hooters. The food wasn’t all that, but I’m not so old that I didn’t realize that wouldn’t be a concern. He loved his wings. ![]()
And he gave me a copy of his scoresheet.. He also told me that “an 800 series” woulda been way cooler. Today a local newspaper is interviewing him. I suggested he leave out any reference to the wing place. ![]()
Major congratulations to your son. Hooters was cool and all but whatever will you do for an encore?
Shhhhh!
He had a great line at Hooters. In the parking lot he told me he was getting ribs. I told him I didn’t think they had ribs on the menu. He replied, “sure they do. Haven’t you heard about the great racks”? :dubious:
