I just checked and my subscription doesn’t expire for over two years. And I think I paid for it some time ago, so I’m wondering if this is in error. It looks as if the most one can pay for is two years at a time, so what’s the s.d. on my subscription? Am I going to discover that it has expired and I can’t get my charter membership back? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?
I’m guessing someone got you a gift subscription in addition to one you already had.

Mine goes until 2016, and I didn’t buy a renewal this year or last year. A couple years ago I thought “I should just renew for two years.”, then checked to make sure I got the two years. Apparently I had the same idea the previous year, and the year before that. I’d guess you did the same.
Doesn’t make sense to me. A two year subscription now should take me to 2016. Two years ago, a two year subscription would have taken me to just about now. I don’t remember the last time I re-upped, but it was at least a year ago, and probably more. I don’t know how I could have so much credit and I’m worried it will turn out to be in error and then I’ll lose my hard-won charter membership status. It’s the only thing that keeps me from flinging myself off the edge. The only thing that provides me with a modicum of self-regard and worth. I’m beyond concerned.

Accidental double-charge when you renewed? Don’t even know if that’s physically possible with SDMBs payment system. What I have in mind is that warning that I have seen on some sites to wait for a response after clicking the button the completes the transaction to avoid being billed twice.
Hoping that an admin will show up and assuage my angst over this matter.

What method did you use to pay? Can you check records? For me, it’s in Quickbooks.
You could have paid when you remembered, then paid again when you got an email reminder (which possibly didn’t get cancelled when you first paid).
People do give gift subscriptions and don’t notify the recipient.

I’ve twice been gifted a subscription without being notified by the sender.
madrabbitwoman was doing gift subscriptions in a thread at the end of Feb / beginning of March. I think she notified the recipients, though. I think kayT said she gifted one as well.
And the SDMB doesn’t notify people that their subscriptions have been updated? Much as I’d like to think so, I don’t believe that’s the answer.
Yeah, I’m in the same boat. My expiration date is 2016. Even if I paid two years in advance, I don’t see how that could be. And I doubt anyone paid for a subscription for me – I’m one of those posters that’s been around forever but if you asked anyone, they’d say “Who?”.
I’d recommend you PM one of the admins. It would probably be quicker than waiting, and admins/mods don’t read every post in every thread.

I’ve looked at all subscription expiration dates being questioned in this thread. Zenbeam, kunilou, and Finagle have all renewed at least 3 different times for 2 years at a time. Your expiration dates of 2016, 2017, and 2016 are correct.
CC had subscriptions in place both as a Charter Member and a Member at the same time so assuming Charter Membership was repurchased. That possibly screwed things up royally but that is not an issue you need to be concerned about. You are good until 2016 as your subscription shows.
