So… my sub lasts until the 18th, sigh. Guess that means I’ve only got a few days of posting left. I’ll be lurking though. LURKING AND WATCHING.
Uh. I turn 18 in December, after which time I plan to get a credit card, write a will, enquire about retirement plans and other stuff which my friends cannot believe I’m doing since I in all honesty tend to be pretty flaky and disorganised, but when it comes to Serious Business I’ve got a truly surprising amount of organisation and self-control. Must be all those horror stories I keep hearing about getting ready to retire at 60 and realising you can’t afford to. Anyway, the point of this ramble is that once I get a credit card I’ll finally be able to set up a PayPal account and I hope to be back some time in January.
In the meantime, here’s a shout out to everyone here who’ve made the Dope the awesome place it is, and who put up with me for a whole year. Here’s hoping you can take me for another year, eh? And special thanks to whichever drug pusher paid for my first sub. The guest membership got me interested, but the sub got me addicted. Thank you! I think.

FlyingRamenMonster–go to the nearest grocery store, & look for the gift credit card rack. You buy a card for a limited sum in cash at the counter. Then, you activate it, & HEY! PRESTO! It works like a check card, until the amount you spent on it runs out.

Kythereia, while I really appreciate your offer, please don’t pay for my sub. Two freebies in a row would make me feel so awkward I’d probably run off and never show my face here again, and what a waste of $15 that would be.

PS - I’m serious about nobody paying for my sub. I’ve been slaving away at work for most of this year earning a small stack of money yet having nothing good to spend it on. Let me consummate my societal role as consumer, dammit :mad:
Well then choose to look at it this way: We can’t afford to lose members who do decent contributions. Our little world gets smaller by the day and anything to stop that is important.
So in other words, don’t look at it as a charitable act, see it as a selfish one.
