My Uncle Died.

My Uncle Chet recently died. We found out about it yesterday. He will be greatly missed. As I said in this thread, originally he was just going to go to a nursing home.

But he was a very jovial person. So on a lighter note, I thought I’d share this picture with all of you. It shows a classic scene in his life, I think. And even though it was taken before I was born, I can tell you exactly what is going on as this picture is being taken. My uncle is hamming it up, making everybody laugh, just when he decides to take everyone’s picture with his camera that has a timer on it. He is sitting closest to the camera, center and on what looks like a piano stool. My grandparents, on the right, are just meeting him for the first time, and don’t know what exactly to make of the guy. His wife is by the window. And you can tell she is thinking, “You’re overdoing it a little bit honey” lol. While all of this is going on, my parents (on the left) are just sitting there inert, witnessing all this stuff. Cute, no?

Thank you for letting me share this with you

What a great rememberance! I’m sorry for your loss, but I thank you for sharing.

It’s funny, what you can tell from a picture. The whole family looks like people I’d want to know, and your uncle especially looks like a sweet guy. Thanks for sharing.

I’m glad you have pleasant memories to keep. It does make loss easier.

I’m sorry for your loss.

Jim B., I’m so very sorry for your loss.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. :frowning: That is a charming picture, though. I hope that the happy memories of his jovial nature can bring you some consolation.

You’ve got my condolences, Jim B. Thanks for sharing your memories of your uncle with us.

That’s a great picture and a great gag to play when you do take a self-timer picture.

I’ll pull that stunt sometime and remeber Chet.
