I think it’s because ATMB attracts the more anal posters and the Pit attracts the attention whores, and when the thread was moved here raisinbread found more of his/her own kind.
I haven’t seen anyone mention the reason it annoys me, and it’s an actual valid complaint about something functional: when you do a search, showing results as posts, the results show a little excerpt of the post, but the vBcode is visible, so the frickin’ purple tags waste space and generally get in the way (example).
…and my crotchety, stick-up-the-ass reason for hating it is that it’s just stupid. It’s like writing your book report in sparkly pen.

A few years ago I met a young man who went by the name “Duck.” Whenever he met someone he would say “Quack quack, Hi! My name is Duck. Quack quack!”
Whenever I see one of raisinbread’s posts, I immediately think of him. I’m sure Duck was a very nice person, but it was hard to take him seriously.

But I will say that while raisonbread’s choice of font color annoys me (I, too, find myself ignoring anything in color - I’d prefer that when I get caught on the internet, it looks like I’m just reading mail or new articles, and color typically isn’t in either of those), I haven’t taken offense or annoyance by anything that he/she has actually written.
And yes, I do realize the irony of the above paragraph after I’ve spent three posts in this thread mocking him/her. It was probably a mistake - no harm intended.
