Ah, but he’s not pure black - witness his white medallion and the big white “v” on his belly. I’m frequently flipping him over to show it off to people he’s meeting for the first time, much to his squirmy discomfort :p.
Nicely done on the video. I think you did a very good job with the pan and scans, though I agree some went a little fast. You probably needed to cull even more brutally, but I can see why you resisted :).
Students doing history projects? The original name given to the Australian continent by Europeans was Terra incognita australis (the unknown southern land).
I had to bump this to point out a discovery I made yesterday. I mentioned it in another thread but thought I’d let you know. When checking out Microsoft’s new search engine, Bing, I discovered something fun and cool. When you’re searching through the videos, if you put your cursor over the picture, it gives you a few seconds of the actual video. Still pictures that start to move. It reminds me of the pictures on the wall in Harry Potter. I actually laughed with delight when I saw that.
Needless to say, I tested it by putting in Hap’s name, and very cool, the video I made starring your cats is listed 2nd! I love that. I don’t know how many people will go searching for videos featuring her or her songs via Bing, but if they do, for now anyway, they’ll see Tycho, and some others if they mouseover.
Edit to add, I just now discovered that if you keep your mouse over the video picture, it will not just play one clip, it will spot-check clips from throughout the video. That’s even cooler!
Oh, two other things while this thread is bumped. First, Bing is not perfect. It’s missing many dozens of her videos that are up on YouTube so I know that their scanners aren’t quite up to snuff yet.
Second, I meant to post a link to this in the other thread, which I don’t want to bump. It’s a fun clip from a live show where Hap talks about one of her cats, Krusty. It’s very short and at the beginning so you don’t have to watch the whole thing if you’re not interested in the music. I think it’s hilarious.
Ok, one more bump on this zombie thread, if you’ll forgive me. I’m re-doing the video with fan’s cats (any fans reading this who want to be involved, you can post in my thread in Cafe Society), and when I wrote to Hap to ask her for more pictures of her cats, she said this in the letter:
So, you know now she definitely saw it and loved seeing your cats! I still watch it quite often. Not to admire my mad video-making skilz, but just to see your wonderful cats. Really, you have no idea how much I loved putting that together.
