I am in the office of our house catching up on some things. My lovely wife is right now playing Phil Collins’ A Groovy Kind of Love on her piano in the living room.
I am happy.

Cool story bro
Thanks for sharing
May the force be with you. Always.
The only time I’ve lived in a house with a piano was with my aunt and uncle. My aunt is amazing. At that time she worked full time, volunteered a crazy amount with church and civic groups, besides keeping a home running (and running beautifully). Every once in a while she’d take a break and play the piano. Not rehearsing to accompany anyone, or hymns for church- just playing for her own enjoyment. It didn’t happen often but I loved when it did. That’s what your thread made me think of and I hadn’t for a while, so thank you for that.
Sounds like a beautiful day.
Audio or it didn’t happen.
She’s going to be annoyed if she sees this thread and she was actually playing Clementi’s Sonatina in G.
I wish I could play piano. I’ve played on and off through the years, but never had a piano of my own. Planning to buy an electric one soon. Got my heart set on a certain electric one at the local store.
I take a great joy in sitting by the fire with my dog while my kids practice. Piano, sax, guitar, recorder, singing - it can get pretty cacophonous around our place, but I love it.
I studied music in college (clarinet), and I used to like to walk by the practice rooms and hear all the people practicing at the same time.
I’m weird…so what.
toofs - please be sure to tell her that. I often feel guilty when I play, assuming that I’m annoying everyone in the zipcode.
Glad you are having a lovely day!
I wish I had a real piano.
All I have set up is a crummy plastic Yamacasio whatever one that is a poor substitute.
I like to lay on the floor and watch her feet while she plays. Sometimes, but not always, she knows I am there on the floor, listening, watching. She enjoys playing Johann Strauss, but she will play Tchaikovsky for me if she knows I am there. She sort of hums and sings to some modern songs, like a subconscious thing she isn’t really aware she is doing. I find it mesmerizing to watch this graceful woman who warmly calls me ‘husband’ fill our home with music and beauty.
I am away for the week. Duty calls. No piano feet for me tonight.
