Mystery Chick Music with Cello

So I was sitting at Borders on State Street today, waiting to meet my Idol, Eric Bogosian, and a song came over the loudspeaker, you know, that piped in music.

And I was in a trance. It was beautiful, touching, gorgeous lyrics…and I have no idea who it was. It sounded a bit like Suzanne Vega singing with a cello. And I remember one of the lyrics (or the lyric that stood out most to me) was…

I used to be afraid of being alone, and now I’m afraid that’s how I want to be

She said “one last shot” a few times in the song, but a search of that in google turns up nothing. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

There is a band called Rasputina ( http://www.rasputina.com ) that consists of three female cellists and drums. I’m not familiar with the lyric you mentioned, but I think they have a new album coming out soon, so maybe that’s what you heard.

No, I’ve heard rasputina. This isn’t them. It sounds very sparse like Suzanne Vega or Casey Chambers or something…grrr…sort of jewelish I guess…it’s really driving me nuts.
