Mystery Mafia -- Game Thread

I hear you, doesn’t mean I have to unvote you :stuck_out_tongue:

**Unvote Giraffe **

For now.

OMG just put a rope through the hole in me nose and lead me!

I Will vote for who I find scummiest even if I am wrong.

I targeted Brewha.

However, like Mahaloth, I may not have been the only one with a grudge against Brewha.

Mahaloth was acting scummy enough to attract 2 kills. Brewha I made a big case against and then he also leaped onto the Inner Stickler wagon late.

That’s enough to consider the possibility that I am not 100% the poisoner. But it’s a fair bet that I am now is what I’m saying.

Topic is moving fast now…

I’ll play:
Sangaman (after that slip)
Brewha
long gap
Probably Silver Jan or Scathach

Wow, great catch. Stated flat out the way it was, that feels like a total scum giveaway – he’s been running the different numbers and forgot which ones he was supposed to know and which ones he wasn’t.

Please PM me with any corrections.

BTW has anyone investigated** Zeriel**? He just keeps voting for me and I know it’s for my D1 late vote. I have played scum with him before and I really don’t trust him inn this game.

I will caution you, town makes that kind of “slip” all the time. Idle Thoughts, whom I’m starting to suspect more and more, has made in my opinion a classic scum response to a “slip.”

Things currently look bad for Sangaman. If we lynch him and he flips town, I’d take a gander in Idle’s direction.

I’m waiting for what you have to reveal, Pizza!

Sorry, but stating a specific number? :dubious: I’m all for people saying “I’d guess x or y number” or “in this game, usually there’s x” or even “I’d think there’d be a xx percentage of scum”…but not just ONE, specific number. I’ve seen many scum caught with slips like that, so the reverse is just as true (if not even more likely).

And why single me out? Giraffe and Scuba voted with me, apparently agreeing…or are you still weirded out over my persistence of the Brewha vote?

Town makes a four scum in a normal game sort of slip sometimes (anyone remember Romanic?), but nine? That’s rather a lot of scum. Definitely more than I guessed.

Here’s the quote again, by the way.

I can’t see how it reads anything other than “Knowing exactly how many scum the game started with”. Not only does he say nine specifically, but then makes it seven with the demise of Blaster and Maha.

And that pretty much makes me think (with a 99.9 percent surity) that Sub Plank is town (for catching it)

I’m going to
**Vote Sangaman ** for PIS.

I’m also going to reveal that I targeted Dancecat Night 1 and Special Ed Night 2. Reason I’m revealing is SpecialEd said he felt “healthy.” However given that Dancecat didn’t say anything yesterday I’m not sure it proves anything.

Reason I’m revealing it now is:
A: PCM said that he got the apothecary role last night. But if that’s me then I don’t see how he would get that knowledge?
B. AskThePizzaGuy is claiming to be the Poisoner - if I’m the “apothecary” and town (you’ll have to take my word on that one I’m afraid), then why is the poisoner also town? Seems almost definitely 3rd party or Scum to me.
C.The obvious way to test this is to target Brewha tonight, but a good few people are finding him scummy and god knows my scum-radar isn’t the best, so I’m leaving the information out for town to decide what to do with it.

I was going to to back through pages and pages but then I thought I’d just ask you straight out.

What did you find out about me?

Are you even reading the thread?

I’ll say it again: NOTHING..because I was blocked, remember? : p

That’s the only info I received.

Dancecat, you are a Town Crier. Each night beginning Night One, you will disclose your true alignment to your target. You are a Villager. You win when all threats to Town Village have been eliminated.

There was a wolf who gave out false alignment.

That explains why Blaster Master read townie.

There was a townie who gave out self-alignment, true.

That explains why Dancecat read townie.

The others were TexCat, Gnarlycharlie, and Silver Jan.

I can state, for the record, that both of the results I have do not involve TexCat, Gnarly, or Silver Jan.

Therefore, these results are not coming from a self-proclaiming alignment crier, most likely. These are different targets from yesterday, leading me to believe that there’s likely a paranoid, insane, or sane cop giving me these results.

Paranoid cop is a sort of bastard role, as is the naive cop. I think I’ve gotten results from a paranoid or insane cop here. Assume insane, due to the bastardness of paranoid cops, and because we have a cluster of guilty results, and the odds of being right on all of them are long.
[ul]
[li]Do not allow these people (Player A and Player B) to survive the game, but play the odds and assume the results are backward.[/li][/ul]

Inner Stickler, you are a Beat Cop. Each night beginning Night One, you investigate your target to learn their alignment. You also prevent your target from carrying out, or being the victim of, any killing night actions that night. You are a Villager. You win when all threats to Town Village have been eliminated.

Because of this, and the fact that it does not say that his results will be given out to some random person, I do not believe that Inner Stickler sent me these results.

I wonder if Inner Stickler breadcrumbed the results he was getting somewhere. I trust his results, I think he was a sane cop. Maybe.

So, we have a likely sane cop/protector dead, Inner Stickler,
We have a town crier role dead, DanceCat,
We have a** false town crier Scumbag role dead, Blaster Master,**
And I have two other roles which are being whispered directly to me, which are not crier roles or we would likely have heard about them yesterday.

Think think think…

Where to begin.

First, I need folks to pore over Inner Stickler’s posts and look for breadcrumbs on his Beat Cop result.

Second, I think I can toss out the Dethy setup as being the exact idea here. Since I had a sane town crier dead and a likely sane beat cop dead, and since gnarly was revealed as “wolf” yesterday but I’m not sure I believe that, I think I can’t trust at least one of the results I was given.

I think that a paranoid or insane cop is giving me results on one or both of these folks. I am not sure how many more sane cop-like roles would exist in a game like this and still be fair.

Insane results are useful, as it would mean so and so is a townie if they flip guilty. I believe the Insane detective is a real role and still alive.

As such, they scanned **gnarlycharlie **last time and Player A or B this time, and got a guilty result both times.
[ul]
[li]If your action was on gnarlycharlie 2 nights ago, *and *last night you targeted one of the players I am going to reveal this round, then you are either an EXTREMELY lucky sane cop (doubtful), an unfortunately useless paranoid cop, or you are an insane cop (As useful as a sane cop) that has cleared two townies as being innocent, but reading guilty.[/li][/ul]

More as my brain generates useful thoughts. Your comments?

She’s drunk Idle. Wait till tomorrow to talk to her.

**vote Sangaman **
Looks like PIS to me too.

So why do you think** I** blocked you???

Whole post in just a sec, but Lightfoot already went back through Inner’s posts and found what I think is a near-dead-certain breadcrumb of DanceCat’s role. He basically said exactly what it was.

Here is my issue with this. Surprise plus a pat on the back for the first sentence. Also, it isn’t a huge leap to make. The one-fourth rule would suggest 6 or 7, and I can imagine extra scum to balance out all of the power roles flying around.

I’ve been guilty of this myself as town, which is why I’m defending this particular instance. As town, you think. You come up with possibilities. Then you have a point to make, and forget we aren’t all part of your thought process.

We’ve lynched town for having their own name for the scum team, stating a number of scums as fact rather than as a “if there are” construction, and any number of supposed PIS slips. I have no stance on him other than I’m not necessarily buying this PIS slip. And your response pinged me a bit.

NETA cos I could have even though i didn’t know I did?
