Good catch, septimus!

Septimus is a wolf too.
No, seriously!

So you think Idle makes a false claim saying NAF is a villager if he is a villager there?

I do not. Therefore I think the one about NAF was correct and he’s a wolf. That means mine is the false message, which said “wolf”, and should clear it up for everyone.

If you want to wait until idle and naf flip wolf to clear me go ahead, but we’ve got this game on lockdown now.

Does anyone else find it “interesting” that ** Idle ** mucked up his win-con but typed ** NAFF’s ** correctly (for Town)
We may have to throw all these bits of information out with the bathwater

We talked about my slip on the scum boards, see…and we figured it’d get someone a heap of Town Cred to point it out. We figured septimus should. True story!

But by all means, lynch NAF next…not septimus.

ok im heading out for a while.

CORRECTED CORRECTED Summary of message shenanigans (the parentheses denote what we know about the content of the message but doesn’t say anything about the recipient).

Night 1:
Scuba Ben gets a message that Jan is a villager (veracity unknown)
Weedy gets a message that Texcat is a villager and a mason (confirmed true)
Giraffe gets a message that Blaster is a villager (confirmed false)
Idle gets a message that Dancecat is a villager (confirmed true)
**Idle claims he ** gets a message that NAF is a villager and a mimic (unknown)
Jan gets a message that gnarlycharlie is a wolf (confirmed false)

We know Dancecat was able to send her alignment so that accounts for Idle’s message.
We know Blaster could send false alignment so that accounts for Giraffe’s message
Night 2:
PCM gets a message that he is a villager and the apothecary (unknown)
AskthePizzaGuy gets a message that NAF is a wolf (unknown; contradicted by Idle)
AskthePizzaGuy gets a message that Episkey is a wolf (unknown)
Donkx4 gets a message that Dancecat is a villager (confirmed true)
Ed gets a message that he is a villager and a power booster (unknown)
Idle claims he gets a message that Drain Bead is a villager and a reflector (unknown)
Giraffe gets a message that pwnsall is a villager

On Night 1, we had two messages with both role and alignment. Idle is pretty sure his is correct (about himself) and know that the message about Texcat is correct. So the question here is why PCM got one that doesn’t seem right (i.e., how did he get a message about role and alignment that wasn’t correct). Also, on this Night there are three role/alignment messages and only two on Night 1. I’m not sure that means but it’s curious.
Also, based on other claims, it seems that Ed is the power booster so at least that part of his message seems correct. And if we believe Idle, that leaves Episkey and PCM as the odd men out.

Night 3:
Scuba Ben gets a message that Weedy is a villager (unknown)
Idle claims he gets a message that he is a villager and a detective (unknown)
Episkey gets a message that pwnsall is a wolf (unknown; contradicts Giraffe’s message)
[/QUOTE]

That’s interesting, Drain Bead. I had previously said I had targeted gnarlycharlie on Night 1. Now you’re saying you bounced me onto myself (though you didn’t know it at the time). I’ve added this info into my table of what I’ve done, what info I’ve received, and what info regarding my actions I’ve said.

This helps me determine what roles I don’t have, and whittles down the aleph-null list of roles I might have.

In other matters, regarding Idle being outed in a Scummy slip-up. I suggest everybody on the Idle lynch-fest post an alternate non-vote, of the other player you consider most likely to be Scum. This will help future analysis.
AOP: Idle’s trying to muddy the waters now. He’s fingering NAF, septimus, and pwnsall as Scum, and ed as third party. I think we’re better off taking everything he says with a large dose of salt.

Could be used for Town Cred later on

One being true does not make the other false and visa/versa

What others flip will not clear anyone for me at nthis time.

Addition to the list of messages.

3770: Idle Thoughts received a message that special ed is a third party of unknown type.

Well, I’m on that wagon (and I’m not a wolf) but you have to admit that Idle’s claim was pretty convincing. I think if we had lynched you and you came up town, we probably would have lynched **NAF **next.

Two Scum slips in two Days? I almost don’t believe it. But I’ll take it
So do we believe Idle’s claim that **NAF **is a mimic? I’ll admit that I haven’t taken the time to work out how all of the recent reveals fit together, and I won’t have time to sit down and diagram it all out until after work today…and with Idle being outed as a Wolf, I’m not sure how much trust we can put in the things he told us.

I’m kind of dismissing anything **Idle **said after being caught. Do you really think this could be true?

Now what does this mean for Drain Bead? Would **Idle **have taken the chance to post claims on all scum buddies? Could either **NAF **and/or Drain Bead’s claims be true?

OK, I should have probably caught up all the way before posting.

At this point, I’m taking *everything *that **Idle **told us off the table. Then I’ll try adding them all back again one at a time and see what makes sense and what doesn’t.

**Ed **says he targeted **bufftabby **on Night 2. Did **buff **ever confirm that?

Hey, I told you dancecat was Town and she was Town, wasn’t she?
I’m always 100 percent honest, even as scum!

Another great moment in Mafia excellence for me: I read this post and my first thought was “septimus is trying to lynch a claimed Detective? How scummy can you get?!” Then I read the next post. And my first thought to that was “huh, Idle is being sarcastic, that’s a weird response.”

Idle, you should have waited, I’d have probably gotten a septimus wagon going to save you. :smack:

Idle Thoughts

That’s why I tagged it in red. Anything Idle said could have been a lie.

However, I have reason to suspect this item to be accurate.

  1. I had previously been leaning Town on Drain Bead.
  2. Idle’s claimed role for Drain Bead resolves an inconsistency in my notes.

And here’s the fun part: IF Idle accurately reported the message he received about Drain Bead and if that message is valid, THEN at least one Wolf is within the set: {Episkey, NAF1138}.

I base this conclusion on that resolved inconsistency in my notes.

Now here’s the problem\ in this: There are two big IF conditions there. Messages have been proven to be of varying validity, and we think there is an insane or paranoid whisperer out there. AOP – Idle says he’s honest even as Scum. Of course he’s Scum, so how honest can he be?

Here’s a thought. Idle could be a Scum Mystic, and receiving the investigation results of another Mystic. Stranger things have happened in this game.

eh, i’m not sure about assuming anything about NAF

remember i got a whisper about me that day that was correct

he did sort of disappear when someone pointed out the slip tho
