Lol, what about it is off? I’ve never been a wolf and kind of feel like the rand is rigged towards players the mods like/have experience with.

tbh this wouldn’t surprise me. I’m about the biggest stickler for rules you’ll find, but sometimes as a mod you can get tempted to twist fate a bit to make things more ‘interesting’. I have never done it and will never do it, but I see how it would be easy to do.

I want to leave a fakepeek, but a mystery mash kind of prevents that. boohoo.

also @ the giraffe thing, he came back and made a few villagery posts and it was explained how he hasn’t played much, so I’m willing to change it. the peek guy’s vote right after that seemed weird too.

It seems like this is one of the fastest games to happen on the Dope, and one of the slowest for our visitors. Keep that in mind when people like me post a few times a day when it’s not our lunch break.

Also, I’m still modding my own game, Zany Zoo, over at Idle’s, and my job [supermarket cashier] gives me hours for one week at a time, anywhere from 7 am to Midnight. With no predictabillity whatsoever. I am saying this to say, that I will play when I can. It’s not like I can sneak a glance at the game, standing in front of a register all day.

cracked quads…the way I rand is to get an excel spreadsheet and use the =Rand() function on every player. The highest 2 are wolves, the 3rd highest is a seer and the rest are vanillagers when I mod turbos.

Giraffe didn’t succumb to my pressure vote. Of course, I doubt he’ll ever react the same way again (last game, he basically agreed with my case against him.) So he gets backburnered.

peeker, on the other hand, is mostly comprehensible, and not antagonistic. Makes me go :dubious:

Interesting. While it’s almost too obvious, this fits my pattern of typical scum on Day one (following the action but staying quieter than usual, trying not to ruffle feathers) so well that I think it’s worth a vote at this point.

Is this your actual Scum hunting technique? As opposed to your null-tell hunting that outed you in the Gilligan’s Island game?

Because it is similar to what you described, so do your two caveats that you stated till apply? That is:

1. Are Town likely to do this generating of posts that look pro-Town without committing?
2. Do you still suck at Scum hunting?

i already said that i misunderstood the mechanics. i doc protected myself last night because i didn’t want to accidentally take someone out. but now i see that all i did was target myself. i really thought the mechanic was that you had to target and hit your power at the same time for it to work. i figured it was the safest thing to do for town.

As you and the rest of us well know you don’t know what ‘power’ you have yet. And a Doc would not take someone out anyway (and the end bit is very cornfusing)

I’ve noticed a general trend among the voting so far. Looking at all of the players who have been voted for more than once:

voting for peeker: Giraffe, Special Ed, NAF1138 (all Dopers)
voting for Dancecat: Idle thoughts, Giraffe (both Dopers)
voting for Giraffe: Special Ed, peeker (both Dopers)
voting for Mykbot: Zeriel, Timelady (a mixed couple)

This would support the idea that ‘strangers are bad’; we don’t want to vote for the same person as an ‘outsider’ because they are not to be trusted. I also think it’s interesting that most of the votes that have been cast so far are from the SDMB players rather than the 2+2 players; I would have expected just the opposite, given that they are more used to short Days and a faster pace.

for breaking the ‘culture barrier’ and voting along with Zeriel (whose vote was half-joking to begin with), for her stated reason (“obvious vote is obvious”) and for later justifying her vote by pointing out how “early voting tends to be done more by townies”

whoops. sorry. i didn’t get any pm (probably get mod killed for quoting a non pm). naf’s targeting of me didn’t do squat as near as a can tell. i mean i didn’t get a message that a kill was blocked or your protection on yourself failed if that is what you are looking for or that blah blah fucking blah happened.
