I was creeping around liliflower’s bed last night, or so I am told.
If she’s still alive that probably means I can’t kill things. Anyone else target liliflower?

Psst. Probably read the OP carefully if you haven’t already. ![]()
You are claiming to have the one action that went through last Night?
Interesting…
So PetW was around to submit at action yesterday but suddenly dropped out (volunteerily)?
Can’t imagine a player being subbed out due to inactivity this early in the game.
Not an actual question, just a musing. I hesitate musing further in fear of getting too meta-gamey.
What happened to lilflower?
Nothing AFAIK. She’s been posting toDay and is still in the game.
I see in the OP something about “one action”.
So I think I can rule several things out if that was me.
I’m not a seer, or else I’d have results and therefore I’d know what I am. Not sure how seers are supposed to *work *in this one… I’m not a nightkiller of any kind. I’m probably not a bus driver, because having a bus driver as the sole Nzero action makes no sense at all, since it would accomplish nothing. Similarly, I was probably not blocking, as blocking being the only action to go through also makes no sense. Same for a doctor if there was no kill. Will re-examine that logic later.
But I think I can rule myself out as being one of the team’s more vital roles. That said, if my action was the only Nzero action, then I feel I should at least reveal what I did with said power.
Not sure if targeting myself would do anything useful, if I’m not a doctor.
If I were to wager a wild guess, there could be a mechanic like reversing the effects of someone’s next night action, or something… or perhaps something with a similarly delayed effect. As such, being active on Nzero makes more sense, since it could affect the outcome of N1. Otherwise stumped. Though I doubt the game was meant to be solved on D1 anyway.
Man, I will punch myself in the dick before I play Malazan again. I like at least ONE aspect of the setup to be stable.
okay, so I haven’t really read the thread, and won’t until I wake up in the morning because I just got home from work and I’m sleepy
in order to give you guys some good contribution to remember me by, I read krazy’s posts and since I’m the proud owner of his soul (and took lessons from thedean1, a notable pogger) I can happily say he is a villager this game.
also Suburban Plankton is a villager, whoever that is, but for a much more secret reason I’ll get into later (maybe, if you’re lucky. I wouldn’t worry about this till later)
When I wake up I’ll find you a wolf if it’s still day1 and I’m still alive, I don’t really got much atm.
p.s. I’m awesome at soul reading, but really busy IRL atm, when I get some free time I’ll crush this game for y’all
p.p.s.

I just saw this post and it made me smile
cool kids hardclear people for little to no reason
day1, it’s a good starting point, obviously you can change things later on when you have more info, but saying “he looks clear so he’s clear until he does something to change my mind” is a good way of developing reads.
okay google is saying this site is dodgy, it didn’t when I first linked it, can a mod change it to http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aA-9Kz2imsQ/TdDy6OmZmrI/AAAAAAAAAAU/89x0AnoSEZM/s1600/emma_watson.jpg
p.s. we’re not allowed to edit posts on pog, dunno if it’s the same here.
So you’re claiming to have a secret bag?*
*lingo we sometimes user here and on my boards/Giraffe for secret info you claim to have but refuse to divulge.
I can’t possibly see how you could know any of that stuff, with surety. Only one Night action went through and it appears to be PetW/askthepizzaguy if we’re to believe him.
Suffice to say, forgive me if I don’t put faith in those players just because you say they’re villagers. : p
I’m amused, though, feel free to read my soul.
Vote TexCat
crap! this is moving fast but apparently not for our new friends.
this is hard due to my time zone but i’ll post as i catch up. first off, welcome to all our new players!
we often believe being helpful is a null tell.
one of our cultural differences. it would be interesting to use it in our next games though it would probably get them lynched before people get used to this.
hey! good to see you here.
yeah, if town can’t win because they lost their power roles, they played poorly or scum really played well.
NO!!! ha ha ha. hey, Pizza!
I was pretty sure he was referring to Peeker working to disguise his scum-tell in this game:
which is supported by his later comment:
The initial comment caught my attention because Scathach seems to be saying that Peeker’s early play toDay was consistent with the scum-tell, but why didn’t Scathach vote? And since Peeker’s apparently gone back to being his normal self, it’s no longer worth a vote? If anything, it should be an even stronger reason for a vote given his change came after he got 3 votes. But he’s also saying that Peeker is actively working to disguise the scum-tell, but Scathach still doesn’t vote him?
It looks like Scathach is either trying to handwave the case against a scumbuddy: “Look, he’s his usual self again, nothing to see here!” or is lamenting the fact that he can no longer jump on the bandwagon against a townie: “Darn, there goes an easily defensible reason to vote a townie”.
As for his later comment, more of the same, how much rope does Peeker need in order for the scum-tell to be worth a vote?
He does go on to say that Peeker is his best candidate but this seems inconsistent with his earlier comment and more a reaction to my vote:
What do you think?
This sounds like the Mod’s way of informing a substitute of his prior actions, not the “special N0 action.” I’ll guess the special n0 action might just be for a power which needs its state “primed” for Day 1/Night 1.
I’m not ready to vote yet. Lynch the Lurker might make sense, but that would be me.
Pizza has been in the game a few hours already and has posted only a few paragraphs. It sounds like he has something to hide, but I’m not going to vote him yet – I do not want Pizza mad at me!
Vote: septimus
[ul]
[li]For not voting me if he suspects me[/li][li]For flinching already[/li][li]For OMGUS-related reasons[/li][li]Because I can.[/li][/ul]
Because I don’t want to vote based on what* someone else* thinks is a scum tell - I haven’t played with Peeker before. It’s interesting that people think that his game is different to normal, but he only had a few posts before being called out for it and any subsequent posts are going to be based on the fact that he knows people are looking for changes in his posting style.
okay the first thing that stuck out is wow, you guys have a completely different culture to us. The general sort of how you read people is mostly the same, but the way you phrase it, and the mannerisms are completely different.
we have a bunch of catch phrases to cover most of what you’ve been explaining in your posts.
ie “when I’m sheriff (seer) I usually wait for 2 investigations, more is too risky”
we have a “2 live peeks = hardclaim” rule of thumb for 9 player games, and generally how we do things is seers will out their peeks, but all the villagers (and the scum/wolves too, to look like villagers" will put out fake peeks that look like they were made by a seer, to give cover to the seer.
You also mentioned that someone who you find suspicious is more likely than not villager, and the people pushing are wolves/scum.
IMO you should be finding different things suspicious ![]()
A good rule of thumb is
“Villagers vote for weird, or things they don’t like.
Wolves try and look like what villagers don’t lynch.”
so the more likely wolves/scum are those who are trying to blend in, not really creating new ideas, but echoing those already present.
In order to really soul-read you, would you be able to link me to a game you played where you were a wolf/scum, and a game where you were a villager/townie so I can see if I can find a difference in your posting style between them (we call this “tone”)
There are many options that spring immediately to mind:
