Thanks, everyone. I agree it looks like K de Rijk, but there is no artist by that name of any renown that I can find. Oh well, I’ll have to find my fortune somewhere else…
You could check with an art dealer, but I would guess that it’s only a generic oil painting, and not worth much. The fancy frame may be worth more than the painting, depending what it’s made from.
It looks like Riipi to me, which is a Finnish name. But I can’t find any artists that match the rest.
I don’t have a clue about the artist or if the painting is worth anything, but it instantly reminded me of a picture my late grandfather paintedand which now hangs in my parents’ living room. Those are beeches too on **dolphinboy’s **picture, aren’t they?
Now, I don’t think my grandfather was the artist in both cases (which meant that he forged the signature :D), but I just wanted to share because of the similarity.
