The Nestle ads with Danny O’Day and Farfel were before my time so–with the exception of a Christmas reunion commercial they did about 15 years ago–I don’t remember seeing them. What I do remember are a series of ads done sometime in the late 60’s that featured a character that was either a puppet or a stop-motion animated figure (my memory’s a bit fuzzy on this detail) who lived in some kind of candy house or shop. In each commercial, the character was visited by a life-size boy who, at the end, would break off and eat the building’s chocolate chimney (an action that would really piss off the little guy).
