Friends of mine in NYC told me Harry Potter (aka Danial Radcliffe) just joined their gym, so I guess they might get, uh, a closer view of him in the shower room than you will?
I believe I read a report that Harry Potter is actually naked for a few seconds in the final film?
I saw the show last year in London. It is extremely well done. I’m not sure if the other roles will be played by the same actors, but it was very dramatic, very emotional. He definitely steps out of Harry Potter for this.
It’s a fantastic play. I’ve never actually seen it performed, but I’ve read it many times. It really resonated with me for some reason–I wrote a paper on it in high school and got the only perfect score my very picky and tough-grading English teacher had ever given up until that point. I’d love to see this version–not because I want to see Harry Potter naked (though I wouldn’t mind that either) but because I would love to see it performed by what’s supposed to be a really good cast.
Back around 1975, when I was just 14, I saw Equus on Broadway with Anthony Perkins.
Perkins was the psychiatrist, not the psycho this time around.
It was a great play, but I found it ironic that, at an age when I couldn’t see an R rated movie, I was able to go into a Broadway theater and see real, live naked people having simulated sex on stage without a problem!
Thing is, as anybody who’s seen the play knows, the nudity is one of the LESS disturbing aspects of the play. I mean, Radcliffe’s character is supposed to have blinded a stable full of horses! Even if he kept his pants on for the entire play, this would still be one scary character, and he’d STILL freak out any little girls who came to the play to see Harry Potter!
Well he’s naked in the final book and Rowling has specifically mentioned picturing Daniel Radcliffe naked during that scene. But he was already naked in Goblet of Fire during the moaning myrtle scene.
I too saw the 1975 production- but in Philly in the round- with Anthony Perkins. The nudity is nothing compared to the power of the scenes. ( However, Jenny Agutter will forever have a very special place in my…heart. )
Meh. So he plays Harry Potter. If he pulls off this role well, then he’s not Harry Potter. He’s an accomplished actor.
Isn’t that the point though? People want Radcliffe to not just be HP for the rest of his life, so him starring in something like this which is completely different is encouraging. I hope he’s successful as an actor in other films/plays, I think he has potential.
Of course he’s now worth about £20m so it’s not like he NEEDS to work again…
