I wonder if the pic really is in the “public domain” and if the newspaper could be sued for printing it. (I’m no prude - glad somebody showed the photo. However, I wouldn’t mind the unedited version).
Yeah and what kind of a name is Nipper Kettle?
:: Looks at The Sun pics ::
Not bad at all for a 48-year old.
She passes the cracker test, IMHO.
Dern ol’ maple leaf. Why couldn’t Canada have chosen the pine tree?
I tip my fedora to Her Honor The Mayor. Nipper Kettle should mind his own business. Doesn’t he know it’s we silly Yanks who get offended at this sort of thing? Canadians are more hip, right?
It is exactly this sort of thing that makes me indignant! Our elected leaders should never expose themselves in private or public, lest they sully their office.
Our elected officials are the prime example of what humanity can aspire to. As the appointed rulers of the planet earth, we must overcome certain actions and emotions that connect us to lesser beasts. We are better than all other species, and we must prove ourselves so…
In fact, I think our elected leaders should never be naked. At all. They must always wear clothes, even in the shower!
More to the point, our leaders should never be allowed to engage in copulation. Sex is a demeaning animal desire, and our elected officials should be above such base inclinations. Furthermore, I find evacuation of the bowels and the bladder to be a disgusting and undignifying process. If our elected leaders are to truly live up to the honor of their office, whether that be mayor of New York, state comptroller, or district attorney, they must not be allowed to defecate. Using the restroom could undermine the very integrity of their office, and it is unbecoming of any elected official… Sex, Nudity, and going to the restroom could undermine our political system, our way of life, and our ability to take our place as the pinnacle of evolution! If we cannot rely on our politicans to overcome their animal nature, then we simply cannot rely on anything!
I must say, the Mayor gets my vote.
Ken Livingstone appears to have a portrait of Margaret Thatcher on his desk in that Sun article. Seems unlikely. I wonder if Denis Thatcher took a similar picture of Margaret when she got into 10 Downing Street?
And I would now like to apologise for introducing that image into anybody’s mind.
Like it wasn’t there already.
I heard that on NPR yesterday too. I hope she continues to stand her ground.
In the words of Colin Quinn, the worst part about things like this happenning is it makes it that much harder for the rest of us to get our GFs to let us take nude pics of them…
I say, stand yer ground, Madam Mayor! And in any case, if someone should be embarassed it’s “councilman Nipper Kettle”, who should have changed his name decades ago had he any sense of shame
Heh. This is kinda cool. I live in Northern BC, about 2 hours or so east Houston. I’m amazed that this has gotten so far. Houston really is a small town, and I can’t understand why everybody is so bent out of shape. I really hope that she sticks to her guns on this issue.
Hopefully, this won’t become a trend in the North. I pray that nude photos of our Mayor never surface. I like the guy, but man, I don’t want to see that. Nobody wants to see that.
