Name a really ordinary, everyday thing that makes you happy.

Smiles from my two kids.

Driving through the college campus on the first few warm days of spring.

Good friends, cold beer, and firing up the grill for tailgating.

Those last moments just before sleep in bed with my wife.

Sunlight through the window.

A leisurely breakfast with good friends.

The first spring day when the air is warm and soft so you can open all the windows and let the outside in.

A mountain stream cascading over rocks.

Riding a bicycle along a mountain stream cascading over rocks.

Cooking a meal that smells really, really good.

When someone in another car lets me into traffic or something similar, and we share a smile and a wave.

Either bright sunny days or dark overcast days.

Driving down the highway at 70 MPH and enjoying the music and the visual surroundings.

Hey - these are great!

I have to add another one:

My Monkey Panties make me happy.

When my other half winks at me.

A few months ago I was dating a young lady. We once went to eat somewhere with her kids. Scott (her 6yo son) just grabbed my hand as we walked across the parking lot the ways kids do.

I felt just great for about three days.

A walk in the park when all the leaves are in their pretty fall colors.

Being held.

Standing looking over the view from the top of a mountain with the sun on my face.

Walking around at night in San Francisco in the fog.

Waking up thinking you’re late before realizing you can sleep in.

Looking through old pictures.

Opening a new DVD and picking off all the stickers.

Finding new, unspoiled margarine before my brothers have at X-Mas, and writing my initials in it. Decades after we were all kids. It’s still satisfying.

I love it when I get my iced tea just right – the perfect amount of Nestea lemon flavored mix with the right amount of water, and a ton of ice. You’d think this would be easy, but it doesn’t always come out just right. But when it does – I’m HAPPY!

When my kid borrows my clothes, or my CDs. She can PRETEND I’m not cool all she wants, but actions speak louder than words.

When my kid smooches me for no good reason. Likewise, when my husband does.

Seeing kids at the grocery store and having them say “Hey! You go to my school!” (I’m there a lot, but they know I’m not a teacher - therefore I must “go” there.)

Craft supplies. Even better, when I get them all organized and tidy (which happens only once every three years.)

My friend Connie’s Mocha Brownie Torte, my friend Linda’s pumpkin bread, and my friend Gloria’s yummy Greek cookies I can’t pronounce.

WARM WEATHER!!!

Hearing my kids pray.

An ice cold coca-cola in the sleepy time of afternoon.

When the music on my car stereo matched the driving.

Blowing soap bubbles.

Strawberry yogurt.

Thanks for starting this thread. I smiled all the way through it.
Great read. Especially today.

Sheets dried outside.

A nap in the sun (beach or garden, either way).

Going into the bedroom in the afternoon when the sun is streaming in and it’s all hot and snoozy in there and taking a nap with my cats (cats are the best nap-buddies EVER!)

Laughing until my stomach hurts with my husband.

My cat jumping on my chest and lying there purring every night.

Heating my cold feet with our space heater until I get warm shivers (you know, the shivers you get when you start to get warm after being cold).

Not being alone.

Kissing my husband good-night and good-morning and hello and good-bye.

Having a great time talking and laughing with my co-workers.

I’ve got another!

A home-made vanilla coke. Ummm, vanilla.

I am definitely with those sunny day lovers. Having grown up in Colorado and now living in Seattle, every sunny day is wonderful.

Is finding the cause of a program bug really ordinary and everyday?

These things don’t really happen everyday but they are pretty ordinary.

-Seeing the bright purple flowers (no idea what they’re called) in between the seemingly black and white background during sunset.

-Good fried chicken.

-Driving so late that practically every road is empty.

-Eating good food high.

-Finding a music group or artist you finally like

-Finishing something you’ve started.

-Sunny days. You can’t help it.

So many of the previous posts I can only say ditto to!
(except maybe the early morning run - but then I’m a late nighter!)

Thunderstorms.
Smelling a rose. (naff, but I’ve started doing it a lot!)
Sheets fresh from the dryer. Warm and snuggly!

Getting caught in the rain with a girl you like.

Playing catch with my brother.
