Name my dog

I’m getting a puppy!!! Well, for $400, a PUPPY. He is a Yorkshire terrier, a Yorkie. I’d link a site for a photo, but still haven’t figured out how. (little help here?) Anyhow, he will be about 5 pounds fully grown, have a fiesty terrier temperment and be the love of my life. I’ve waited 25 years for this dog. SOOOOO, anybody have any ideas for a name? I don’t get him for 3 weeks, so we have some time. I’ve always had trouble naming things I haven’t met yet, including my kids. Had to see them first! Any suggestions gratefully considered. This group should be able to find the perfect moniker…Uncle Wally…you listening???

I have a friend who named his dog, “Chase”, I’ve always liked it/

How about HoverDog™?

Including the little trademark notice. I bet no one’s ever trademarked a dog’s name. Except for the bastards at Disney. You don’t work for Disney, do you? OH, GOD, DO YOU?!?!

Yikes. I have a cousin who named her kid, Chase.

Benny.

How about “Cadet”.

Rest easy Breck…your trademarks safe with me.

I like people name for dogs…mike etc

Mr. Sneeferflu?

Senor Jalapeno?

Dr. Ruffles?

Miss Mamacita?

IKEA?

Kenny?

It’s not a chihuahua (sp?)…They’re ENGLISH!! LOL!!
And doesn’t Kenny die every week? Keep those cards and letters coming!

Noodles?

As in the DeNiro character in Once Upon a Time in America?

How about “Buck”? Totally inappropriate for a small dog, so it might work.

I’d call him…
Cujo

NOW we’re cookin’! I can see that! Anyone in the UK or British have any “common in the UK, but not in the US” names?

isn’t there an unspoken rule that all yorkies must be named cricket.
dave

Got it in one AuntiePam .I love that film.

How about a “gaelic” name . Oisin ( pronounced ushinne )

Well, Robin Hood is a Yorkshire story. A little bitty dog named “Robin Hood” might be cool. But I have an acquaintance with a teacup poodle (translation: curly-haired rat) named Genghis Khan.

Catrandom

Anything cute, little, and cuddly should be named George.

You must be right, the first one I ever saw, the one that started all this, WAS named Cricket!!

Feisty, indomitable and English…how about Winston?

And there’s an built-in segue for those inevitable “whoops” moments on carpets: Winnie The Pooh (or Poop).

Sincere congrats and celebation on your dog. Mine is a mutt and the light of my life. Honestly, we’re a pack of two, and no one could wish for a better, funnier, stubborn, loving companion.
