When I was a kid, I played this game on my friend’s NES a few times. At the beginning, you are looking at the interior of a small house, with a family and their pet looking back at you. You pick one of them to be the character you will play as for a while. You can come back later in the game and pick a different character to continue as. The family included a Dad, a mom, a son, a pet, and a grandpa. (I don’t think there was a sister, though maybe there was.) Each had differing characteristics. I think the two ways they were different from each other was in the range of their attack and the length of their jump. The pet was a little pink baby dragon-y thing, or at least some kind of pink thing with a tail. You couldn’t play as the grandpa–he just gave you codes to save your game.
The game was a sort of platformer/dungeon crawl combo. It’s hard to explain. At one place in the game, there was this big tapestry of a dragon. For some reason I had the notion that an idea in the game was to get the dragon to come to life and then to kill it. But I don’t know why I thought that.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
What’s the name of the game?
