Now that I’ve done Name that street and Name that machine , it’s time to name that pet!
Above you will find a list of dogs and cats — and wolves and lions — both wild and free, real and animated, from cartoons, comics, movies, books, television, and so forth. Can you name the work with which they are most commonly associated? Beware, there’s a few trick questions in there.
And here’s your bonus question: can you name a cat named Spot and a dog named Fluffy?

Funny, I didn’t put that on the list. The animal on the list is Brain.
Your other guesses were right, though.
Ok, I think that…
Greebo is the cat belonging to Nanny Ogg in the Discworld series.
Brain is the dog in “Inspector Gadget”.
Nana is the dog in “Peter Pan”.
Maurice is an amazing a cat from the Discworld series.
Mr Tinkles is the bad kitty in the film “Cats and Dogs”.
Vincent belongs to… wait for it… WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT!!
cough Forgive me; I was just a mere lurker during the actual Lost season.
Oohh wait, and isn’t Gaspode the talking dog, also from the Discworld series?
That’s all now…

Snowball I and Snowball II are incranations of the Simpsons’ cat

Mr. Bigglesworth is the cat from at least one of the Austin Powers movies.
**Asta ** is the dog from The Thin Man
And
Elsa is the lion from Born Free
**
Bustopher Jones** is a cat from Old Possums Book of Practical Cats, and of course Cats.
Elizabeth Taylor is the dog from Sex and the City
Salem, the cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch?
Koko and Yum Yum are Siamese cats from the “The Cat Who…” mysteries written by Lillian Jackson Braun.
Old Dan and Little Ann are the coon-hunting dogs from “Where the Red Fern Grows.”
Sorry, didn’t notice you had this one.
**Buck ** is the dog from The Call of the Wild
Guenhwyvar : Drizzt’s magical black panther.
A cat named Spot would be Data’s cat.

Several people can identify the cat named Spot, but who knows the dog named Fluffy as well?
I didn’t realize Dr. Forrester had a pet named Frank on MST3K — the one I’m thinking of is a movie dog.
Then again, there’s no reference too obscure for the Straight Dope.
