Name That War!

Giving it a Hollywood twist…

The Road To Bagdad

Starring Gee Dubya, Tony Blair and Anne Coulter as the Love Interest!

My brother asked me to post his suggestion:

Operation Holy Crap!

(Think about it…)

Gulf War Two: Electric Boogaloo

The “Unelected Despot with Weapons Of Mass Destruction Hell-Bent on Ruling The World Versus, erm, another Unelected Despot With Weapons Of Mass Destruction Hell-Bent on Ruling The World” War.

Just trips off the tongue, don’t it?

The War to Reelect the President

Junior’s War

The War on Terra

Dubya Dubya Three

I love it! Now I have a picture in my mind of men in camoflage “poppin’” and doing “The Worm” while holding their M-16s.

The Return of the King is already taken, right?

How about:

The war to stop Sadam’s usage of WMD on his own people?

or

The war to keep WMD out of the hands of Al Qaeda?

There’s a strong damn chance that I’ll get called up to go. Over 1/2 of the Oklahoma Army National Guard has already deployed. We’re going to stop a lunatic who’s already started using the crap he denies having, on his own people yet! What I can’t figure out is how anybody can believe that this guy doesn’t have something he has already used, or that he won’t use it on us, if he’s already killed so many in his own country?

I especially love it when folks who claim to love peace and value human life apparently only love our peace and only value western human lives. They don’t seem to care about those poor souls who are suffering under that dictator. Seems to me that these “caring” people are like somebody who’s too busy to throw a drowning person a rope. If they got into the water, it’s their own damn fault. Let them swim out if they want to.

I swore an oath to defend the United States Constitution. That constitution gives us the right to say what we think, and I wouldn’t dream of attempting to curtail free speach to anybody, no matter the nationality, etc. But please, keep in mind that those of us who are (or, in my case, may be) going into harms way have our morale harmed just a little bit each time we hear somebody claim that we’re going so that our president can get re-elected or some other such nonsense.

I don’t want to go to war. I have absolutely no desire to leave my family and go 1/2 around the world in order to kill somebody who’s even more terrified that I’ll be. But I’d rather give my life in that conflict than wait until “President Hussein” gives Al Qaeda the means to unlease a chemical or biological weapon against America.

Sorry for the rant. I’m just under a whole bunch of stress right now, and this negative morale stuff is making it worse.

Bushfest 2003

Actually I believe that, at least in some areas, the Iran-Iraq war was actually the First Gulf War, Which would make this one the Third Gulf War.

My nominee:
"Faster Rumsfeld! Kill! Kill!"

Moderator’s Notes: While I fully realize the impending war is an emotional issue for many, let’s please try to keep the pontificating, from either side, out of this thread (and this forum). There are other more appropriate forums for that type of thing should one wish to comment. Thank you.

um…oops. Sorry, This is my first day. I read a bunch of stuff on the main board, but didn’t realize I was off target here. Two questions:

  1. Which board should I have put my other post on? I don’t want to post in the wrong place.

  2. What would have been an appropriate response?

I would have tried something witty as reparte, but couldn’t think of something appropriate. I’m not particularly lighthearted about people belittling the possible deaths of several thousand of my friends and myself so far from home.

I’ll stop posting to this thread, but would appreciate a pointer on where would be appropriate to post on this topic.

Thank you.

:frowning:

Well…the name is out…

Operation: Iraqi Liberation.
Just doesn’t have any oomph to it.

Not original, but I like Operation Inigo Montoya.

Leave it to The Onion, of course: “Military Promises ‘Huge Numbers’ for Gulf War II: The Vengeance

I understand that and sympathize with you. However, MPSIMS is a “social” forum; it’s supposed to be light-hearted. Gripes and such belong in the BBQ Pit. Reasoned debate belongs in Great Debates. There are several threads currently running in both of those forum where your comments would be more appropriate.

And welcome to the boards.

“Persian Gulf War games 2003”

I have two suggestions:

Gulf War II (this time it’s personal)

And

“I’m lookin for the man who shot my Paw”
