Over a week ago, Nicholas D. Kristof, a NY Times columnist offered prizes for a good name for the current/former war in Iraq.
Today, he announced the winners. I wouldn’t be the least surprised if some of them are regular SDMB contributors.
Anyway, his column is worth reading.
Well, Cecil Adams already came up with “The Damn Fool War”

IMHO, “The Damn Fool War” doesn’t compare with Kristof’s prize winners.

I don’t remember who it was, but someone on this board suggested: Desert W. Storm.

Damn Fool War has my vote. Short, descriptive, and doesn’t involve saying the word “Bush” anywhere.

Son Shoots At Pop’s Nemesis, Misses.
Student Fails History, Repeats It.
The Daily Show recently referred to it as the “Mess O’Potamia.” Similar to one of the suggestions noted in the article.

Election’s Right Around The Corner War?
no…too long…(the title AND the war).
Winston Churchill wanted WW II to be called “The Unnecessary War”, because of the ease with which it could have been prevented. If he had gotten his way, then we would currently be in UW II.
I’m a fan of “Desert Slog.” Says a whole lot, and toes the Party Line.

Seriously, folks, the only thing that makes sense and can stand the test of hisory is “The War against Iraq”.
So that people can say" Blah, blah, blah…during the War against Iraq…blah, blah…

The “Waaah, you’re still in power and my daddy isn’t” War
I kinda liked “dubya dubya 3” from that article.
This is my second choice:
