We’ve all heard it a thousand times, on TV and such, it’s that song that people strip to, I’ll try to hum it:
“Baa-da-da-DAA BAH-da-bum-bum…
(then later…)
BUM! bum! BUM! buh! etc…”
(Well, that will surely help ) It’s usually played on brass of some kind (trombone?).
What’s the name of it? Do or did people every actually use it for stripping?
Ideas?

If you’re talking about the song first performed in the mid- 60’s by David Rose and his Orchestra, I’m pretty sure the title of the tune is “The Stripper.”

Yep, it actually is called “The Stripper,” and was written by bandleader David Rose.
I think it was written as a parody of all those stripper tunes, but actually morphed into the most famous of them, itself.
Ok, so what did the strippers dance to before “The Stripper”?
