What is the correct term for a person with a fear of touching animals? The closest I’ve seen is doraphobia, but that’s defined as a fear of touching animal fur or skin. Presumably, that means that someone who is doraphobic would be afraid of touching a mink coat. What about someone who simply doesn’t want to touch an animal—not because it has skin or fur or scales or feathers but just because it’s an animal?
