Name this song. 80s/90s disco "No Regrets, no tears goodbye"

So, I found a box of old mix tapes last week and have been listening to them lately. There’s one song that I’ve been playing over and over that I love. It’s a very upbeat, disco-ish song, sung by a female. Some of the lyrics are:

I know your leaving is too long overdue
For far too long I’ve had nothing new to show to you
Thru dry eyes I watched your plane
Fade off west of the moon
And it felt so strange to walk away alone
No regrets no tears goodbye
Dont want you back wed only cry again
Say goodbye a—gain

There’s no regrets, no tears goodbye
I don’t want you back, we’d only cry.

Anybody have any idea who the artist is?

It’s by Midge Ure

Edit – oops, a female? Then it’s a remake of “No Regrets” by Midge Ure… Never heard that one, sorry

The original artist is Tom Rush. Don’t know who did the cover.
Edited to add: Disco? Really? Now you’ve got me curious. I can’t even imagine an uptempo verstion of this song.

Yep, I remember hearing the song several years ago in a bar…it packed the dancefloor. It sort of reminds me of “I will survive” by Gloria Gaynor. It’s got that same feel, but a bit more modern sounding. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s from the early 90’s.

The version that springs to mind for me is the Walker Brothers’ cover (no mistaking that cavernous voice), but it won’t be that version. Apparently Olivia Newton-John covered it - any chance it was her?

The mystery has been solved. It’s a version by Lonnie Gordon. Samples can be heard at: http://www.almightyrecords.com
