Names that automatically disqualify movies for you

The first one I thought of was Jim Carrey.
Then I thought of Chris Tucker.
Then I thought there were so many I would have trouble listing them all.

Ashley Judd. Too pissy and too prissy. Just no.

He’s one of those actors who went from “Wow, this guy can act!” to “Shut the fuck up already.”

Renee Zellweger
Julia Roberts
Anything with both Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan at the same time.

I’ll agree with the people here that say that no one will make me automatically rule out a movie, but I will say that there are some names that will provoke an initial reaction of :dubious: if they are listed as headliners.

Can’t think of a list right now, so I’ll start with:
A regular SNL cast member (excepting Bill Murray or maybe Steve Martin)

Julia Roberts, Jennifer Anniston, Meg Ryan, Katie Holmes. Just the SIGHT of any of these women, say, on a magazine cover, fills me with an unnatural and unexplainable rage, and I certainly have avoided any of their movies. Sharon Stone, any of the multitude of interchangeable ‘Kates’ and ‘Jennifers’, even Gwynneth Paltrow I can live with, but not the first four.

I can’t even begin to name all the men I avoid! There are too many to name, except Woody Allen, of course. (I did see the one with Scarlett Johannsen and Jonathan Rhys-Myers because THEM I adore.)

Adam Sandler, for the most part.
Will Ferrell unless he is a supporting actor, not the main character.
Same for Ben Stiller.

Why wouldn’t anyone like Sharon Stone? She is really cool.

Yes, definitely. Although I *did *see the Ben Stiller one a year or so ago, with Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. (Can’t remember the name.)

I noted long ago that ever since, oh-- say the mid-80’s, Al Pacino’s acting has consisted entirely of alternating between whispering and yelling. Think about it.

I get a lot of these…I completely don’t get the ones with perhaps some of the best actors around…I mean, Leo DiCaprio has become one hell of an actor (actually, he’s always been pretty good, but he made some REALLY poor choices for a while)…Meryl Streep? Really? John C Reilly? Russell Crowe? I mean, the guy’s a douche, but he’s a hell of an actor.

Are you sure you just don’t like dramas? Because that’s frankly what a lot of these sound like. I can understand not liking Zellweger…she’s a good actress, but she’s got a manner about her that I can see ticking people off.

Me, there’s very few people who are immediate blackball material. In fact, the only one I can think of right now is Zach Galifianakis…that guy is just…not…funny…

I’m not a big Will Ferrell fan either, but Stranger than Fiction is really good, and I’m very glad I didn’t DQ it because of Ferrell.

Tropic Thunder, maybe?

LC Strawhouse, it’s not something I can explain. She’s just bugged me in every movie. Except Basic Instinct.

Matthew McConaughey

Another vote for Adam Sandler.

Juliet Lewis. Annoying white trash.

Woody Allen
Sean Penn

Stallone. 'nuf said.

Oh, and Mark Wahlberg up until The Fighter.

Jim Carrey.

No, not Eternal Sunshine either.

She’s not making movies anymore, not that I know of, but I don’t watch anything with Jane Fonda.

Kathleen Quinlan

She just sucks all energy out of a movie.
