I beginning to think he just picks words because he thinks they sound good. Hollows, Huerco Mondo, Arrancar. None of it makes any sense, but it is a kick ass show.
Except for this whole Bount Arc.

No, zeta corresponds with Latin Z, and its name is cognate with the British Englishg name of the letter, “zed”.
The Greek letter best corresponding with Latin C is gamma, which is in the same position in the alphabet, and which as turned around 45 degrees to look like “<” before it changed into the “C” shape. But it’s not the same sound.
Oddly, the Cyrillic letter that looks like Latin C is derived from Greek sigma, and sits in the same position in the alphabet, so that although the Latin and Cyrillic letters look alike, and often sound the same, they are unrelated.
Whatever, it’s all Greek to me.

No, no, you actualy had it half right. The Greek, Latin and Cyrillic alphabets start off with much the same letters, but they diverge towards the end, so that the last few leters of each are completely unrelated. So omega got dropped in both Latin and Cyrilic, because its function could be taken over by omicron (which became Latin O and the similar letter in Cyrillic). Greek zeta wasn’t used in Latin , except for words derived from Greek, so it first got dropped in Latin, then got added again at the end. And he last letter of the Cyrillic alphabet, which looks like a backwards R, and is pronounced /ya/, is a nw letter invented by the Russians.
