NaNoWriMo 2006

I’ve gone green! 50,118 words according to RoughDraft, which usually is pretty close to the Nano counter.

There are still about six scenes yet to do, so I can’t slack off too much, but for the moment I’m simply admiring my word count.

OK, so I won. Now how do I get my darn certificate? When I go to the winner’s page Safari vapor-locks.

Harumph!

It’s a pdf download from your own individual winner’s page. Not sure what Safari is so can’t help on that.

Hit the 50k mark over the weekend and my certificate is now sitting happiily in a drawer.

Congrats for finishing. I’m dead chuffed. And tired.

43K and bronchitis hits. I’m hoping I can finish up, but I’m not optimistic. :frowning: Ah, well. I’m close at least.

Congrats to those who have already made the count!

I’ve got about 4k left to write, and thought I’d be doing a lot of padding of the denument.

… Then I realised I seriously borked the timeline at the end, and fixing it will be a kind of padding of its own. >_>

Woo.

I finished tonight at 50337. I’ve got some cleanup I’m going to do over the next few days, but I’m calling it a moral victory.

I wrote the last 5000 words in less that three hours tonight. Not only the most I’ve written in one day, but by far the fastest rate I’ve attained as well.

And now, to go buy myself a celebratory Nintendo Wii.

1260 words to the end for me…I’ll probably be finished by midnight Wednesday, forget midnight Thursday. squee

DONE! 50,437! I still can’t believe I made the plot last that far.

48,596. I can make it. The last two years, I’ve been done by this time, so I’m feeling a little discouraged. But I can write 1,500 words without much trouble, provided I can find the time to do it.

4000 words left.
That can be done - so long as I sit down and do it. (I’ve checked. Last year, I was about 2000 words closer, and the year before, about 500) but the big problem is that I’m just not enjoying the story this year as much - so it’s that much harder to do.

Plus, I was so worried I wouldn’t make 50k, that I stretched a bit too much in the center, and now, I think the story is either going to be about another 10k (if I get lost stretching it out) or 500 (if I kind of outline it) and either way, it’s not going to make sense, and I’m tempted to say “and they all went home and had ice cream and lived happily ever after. The End.”

Go us!

Let’s see, so far announced winners: look!ninjas, iamthewalrus(:3= , tagos, Paul in Saudi, StarvingButStrong, Malacandra, SteveWright …anyone else?
C’mon, everybody else! You still have a day and a half – do you need us to cheer you on?

I’m almost to 47K. If I can’t finish tonight, I’m going to spend all of tomorrow sweating to get it in before midnight. So yeah, after work, it’s go time.

Me. Clocked in at 50600 on Monday morning.

Oh, yes, I did the same thing. I no longer think I’m ever going to finish this story because at this point, I might actively hate it. I still like my characters, but I’m mortified at what I’ve done to the poor souls. But I’m almost at 49K, and I’m thinking I can make it to 50 before the end of work today, because it’s kind of boring here. Maybe once I’ve had a week or two of space, I’ll care about their lives again.

Oops - already clocked in. I’m just doubly pleased I guess. :smack:

Just uploaded … I’m so happy. I am so fucking sick of those people and their stupid story. I never want to look at that again.

Until around Christmas, probably.

150, 471 words, and I still need to add more.

Don’t do inter-region word wars, people. It’s not a good idea. My fingers, my keyboard, and my prose style are all shattering under the strain …

50322 words, as of 8:16 PM today.

Three time participant, 1 time winner. Hup!

Go! Go! Go! Go!

50,120. Is anyone else tired?
