National Tithing Statistics

I don’t know if this is even possible to ascertain, but is there anywhere one can find statistics (or averages) for how much the United States spends annually on tithes? I’ve tried Googling, but I’m not sure I’ve got the right word string. Or something, since I’m not coming up with any useable results.

So if anyone can help me or point in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Only a rough estimate, but according to the secular GivingUSA, total charitable contributions in 2006 were $295.02 billion, of which 32.8% went to religious congreagations. (warning PDF). That works out to a little under $97 billion.

Try their website http://www.givinginstitute.org/

Dagnabit! I was actually on their website and somehow still fudged up what I was looking for. I think I thought they’d be biased or something. Thank you kunilou for the help. :smack: Now I just need to go check them out some more.

ETA: Is this the only one or are their other sites with similar information?

The statistics are out of date, and it’s definitely faith-based, but trythis.
