National Treasure: Diana Kruger running...

Okay, so I took my 7-year-old kid to this - he was a year or two too young, in terms of getting all the history and stuff (fake tho it was) but he liked the action/adventure. I thought it was fine - at least it was better than Yu-Gi-Oh the Movie…

Anyway - that Diana Kruger is one handsome woman. She wasn’t picked to play Helen in the movie Troy fer nuthin’. But I noticed something - there were a couple of scenes in NT where the shot was from behind her and either Nic Cage or his comic relief buddy running with her, and darn if she didn’t have this completely uncoordinated, knock-kneed run that was just…hilarious. It seemed like they got just enough of a transition shot to show “okay, they’re running” then cut away as quickly as possible 'cuz she’s an uncoordinated spaz.

Did anyone else notice this?

Haven’t seen the film, but in the (very good) Criterion commentary for Charade, Stanley Donen and Peter Stone talk about what a terrible-looking runner Walter Matthau was, and how they cut and shot the final chase to conceal this fact (one I never noticed before, but now is fairly easy to see in one particular shot).

Hmmm Walter Matthau or Diana Kruger, who would I rather watch running? I’ll get back to you on that.

Hard choice there – they’re about even in the titty-bounce department.

Not sure whether to be excited or horrified, but thanks for the mental picture.

Where did I put that brain bleach???
