NBA 2022-23 Season

The T-wolves managed to thrash Oklahoma and squeak in at #8 in the playoffs. The bad news is that their first set of games is against Denver. The worse news is that it won’t be televised here until 9:30 p.m. each night. Screw that.

Draymond Green doesn’t just need to be suspended, he needs to be kicked out of the fucking league. He’s the dirtiest player in the NBA. This is not his first offense, this is not his third offense, this is like his twelfth offense. That’s not just a pattern, that’s a habit.

He’s the modern-day version of Bill Lambier, who was arguably the dirtiest player in NBA history.

T-wolves lost their playoff opener to Denver by 29 points. Looks good for a Denver sweep.

And Draymond has been suspended for Game 3 vs. the Kings.

The slow pace of the playoff series is killing me. The Lakers had their first game Sunday afternoon, and their second game is tonight. Then, Game 3 isn’t until Saturday night.

That’s the worst - infuriating.

Momentum killer for either team and fans.

But it gives the important, older, teams a chance, so it’s vital.

Yeah, it should be a five game series at most. I’d prefer a two out of three series myself.

It’s crazy to me the amount of commentators falling over themselves to defend him at this point.

Not surprising that the Raptors fired Nick Nurse today. But from my unlearned perspective he is not the likely cause of the Raptors mediocre efforts this year. I wish him well and am curious if someone else can do better. I am slightly skeptical.

James Harden got booted for a groin punch; Embid got a flagrant 1 for a groin kick. NBA needs to really crack down on this crap. Harden has been flailing his way throughout his career with few consequences.

I’m going to venture a guess you didn’t see the play you’re describing?

For reference:

That was a James Harden-worthy flop right there.

Yeah, I’ll concede that one, although if anyone deserves to get punked for a flop, it’s the bearded one.

Also true that he likely got ejected because Embiid should have been earlier, and wasn’t.

I agree, best of five series were fine for the first round. At the very least they should have a mercy rule so teams don’t have to bother playing game four if a series starts 3-0.

There seems to have been some flopping, but it also looks like Harden did deliberately punch the guy in the nuts. What I find much more unbelievable is that Embiid wasn’t thrown out for his far more aggressive act.

Are you saying that what you see in that video is not something that happens on about a hundred possessions per game, or are you saying that players deliberately punch each other in the nuts a hundred times a game?

The former. On closer review, “punch” is too strong, it’s more of a backhand slap. But it definitely looks to me like there’s purposeful movement there, it’s not just random flailing. I would consider it a borderline call as far as being deserving of ejection.

FTR I have no rooting interest in this series.
