NBA 2023/24 Season

Kyrie with the crazy game winner against Denver. Gotta give it to him, he is an amazing player.

Yeah, that was some shot. Reminded me of Lillard in his playoff game years ago. Hoisted an impossible three at the buzzer and then waved bye-bye to the Rockets’ bench.

MN swept the Jazz. Had to fly home last night to face Denver tonight. Seems a bit unfair.

Specially since this dunk might keep Anthony Edwards out of the game.

I’ve seen him take some bad falls and ankle turns and return to the game within minutes. The guy seems to be indestructible. I’m betting he’s in the game.

As I expected, Edwards played injured. A close game with the Nuggets winning by three.

WORLD…B…FLAT!!!

(hey, discourse, how’s this for a complete sentence: go fuck yourself!)

MN had a surprisingly difficult time with CLE the other night, but pulled off the win in the last few minutes. They’re up against GS tonight, so I hope Edwards brings his A game.

I wouldn’t call it surprising, Cleveland is third in the East and have been on a tear since the all star break or longer.

Sports pundits were also surprised at how close it was. Edwards was held to 12 points or so. He normally hits mid-20s or 30s without a problem, but had an off game.

MN is now in the 50-wins club after defeating both GS and the hapless Pistons. They’re in a dead heat with Denver and OKC for the top honors. If they can displace Denver, MN will have home court advantage in the playoffs, which beats playing in that altitude. Speaking of which, that’s their next opponent. Edwards’ needs to get out of his slump and get in the game. Only eleven games left in regular season!

The Toronto Raptors hope to be challenging Cleveland’s football team for consecutive losses.

I just saw where the NBA’s reigning thug was ejected once again for fat-mouthing a ref. I’m not sure why the NBA continues to keep him around. At least it wasn’t for trying to choke out another player or any of the other brutish behavior he’s exhibited over the years.

Last night the Timberwolves played probably the best ball I’ve seen from them to defeat the Nuggets in Denver. Their defense was outstanding and the passing game was excellent. They’ve moved into the #1 spot in the West again.

Battle of the losers last night and the Pistons beat the Wizards.

Pistons have 13 wins now, Wizards have 14. Who will end the year as the worst team?

End of season tankathons are very hard to predict, it’s not about who’s the worst team any more.

With only some ten games left in regular play, I’m pretty sure none of the above are going to climb out of the tar pit.

I miss my 2004 Pistons who had awesome defense. Obviously, I miss the Bad Boys era as well. So fun to watch back then.

I think the 2004 team was such a weird mix of players, I have an affection for that team. Holding 5, I think, teams in a row under 70 points is kind of incredible.

Could UConn beat the Detroit Pistons?

No.

The Bulls gave MN a lesson in defense last night, and Edwards is in a 3 slump that has him hitting only one of his last 17 attempts or so. It ended up being a close game, but an L for MN.

I believe I just read Bronny James declared for the NBA draft?

But is he good enough for the NBA? I thought he was doing only OK in college, but I don’t follow him closely.
