The Blazers are 12-4 at home. I have been to two games this year at the Rose Garden and both were losses. I have rotten luck. If I were a superstitious sort, I wouldn’t go the Knicks game next month, for which I already have tickets, but I am not.
Odd game last night with the Clippers and the Suns. The Suns started off by dominating in the first quarter, but then were outscored by the Clippers in the last 3. Clippers are still missing Randolph and Baron Davis didn’t play either.
The Suns look like they’re ready to start moving up. Nash, Richardson, and Stoudemire seem to be working well together and Stoudemire has shut his mouth, for now.
I think this is like the third time Boston Cleveland and Orlando lose on the same night against inferior teams. The Lakers might be back on top of the league atm.
Last night was Upset Thursday. In addition to Boston and Orlando losing to the Knicks and Toronto respectively, Dallas went down to Memphis and Cleveland lost to abysmal Washington.
The Celtics seem to have hit a mental skid lately. Just a hangover from the winning streak? The ESPN so-called experts are blaming their bench (no Posey) and saying that Garnett, Pierce, and Allen have played so much over their careers that they might be tiring a bit as the season goes on.
Clippers lose ten in a row. Ugh. At least the Suns beat up on the Mavericks last night.
Yao Ming makes it to the All Star game again.
Ugh.
Ugh!? He should make it to the All Star game. He is the best or second best player at his position in his conference. The only problem I have with the All Star starters is Allen Iverson. He shouldn’t even be on the team, let alone starting.
With Monta Ellis’ return tonight, we can finally begin our triumphant return to the playoffs!
Since we on the Dope are all gracious champions, I will argue that you, like Congresspeople, should have the chance to revise your remarks to reflect what you actually meant to say.
The Raptors are killing me. It’s gotten to the point where as soon as they have a lead I wonder how they’re going to blow it.
What an horrible loss by the Suns last night to the Bobcats. The Suns have completely lost it and if they keep this up, they won’t make the playoffs. Amare Stoudemire with a lousy 12 points. The Suns only managed 76 points in their worst loss of the year.
A crazy game between OKC and the Clippers. Kevin Durant puts up 46 for the Superthunder while Eric Gordon of all people has 41 points. A win is a win, so the Clippers will take it.
After last night’s loss, i think Stoudemire is as good as gone. Good riddance, too. He’s a liability on defense and can’t seem to play in a standard offense. Some stupid GM will take him.
That Eric Gordon game was something (both late games last night were pretty good - i was flipping back and forth). With his speed and range i knew he’d contribute eventually but I always assumed his rookie year would be a rough one.
Think of it this way…if they suck for long enough, maybe they can get the number 2 or 3 pick and end up with James Harden and get the 2 guard they really need. Unfortunately they have Calderon back who played spectacularly last night so tanking the rest of the season seems out of the question.
Two games today with some upset potential.
I’ll take the Mavericks over the Celtics and the Spurs over the Lakers today.
Right, because the last high pick the Raptors had turned out so well. “Hey, the #1 pick! I know, I’ll draft a power forward. That’s surely our biggest need right now!” :smack:
I think this is an easier draft, to be honest. I think there are 2 or 3 guys who are almost can’t miss picks (Blake Griffin, James Harden, and to a lesser extent, Thabeet) The Bargnani draft was a bit of a crap shoot. The answer looks obvious now but there were 5 or 6 guys who you could pick at the time (hey, I was hoping they’d pick Rajon Rondo as a guard but Calderon seems to have turned out well).
I just happen to believe that they need to replace Anthony Parker. I just don’t think he’s a starter.
Then again, I’m a life long Spurs fan (when I became a basketball fan there was no team in Toronto). Now I just wish the raptors well.
Boston is just owning the Mavericks. Ugh. Jason Kidd is playing horrible.
The All-Star reserves have been announced. I can’t really argue with any of them.
Does NBA TV broadcast in HD?
