Any thoughts?
How on earth did BYU get in and BC didn’t???
Phouchg
Lovable Rogue
why does Texas get the #1 overall seed?
My thought is that when a “Collegiate” organization thinks that Vermont, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan are in the west it explains a lot about the state of education in this country.
They didn’t. The 65th seed revolves region to region each year. And this year it went to the south region and Texas just happens to be the #1 seed in that region. Heard one of the talking heads from ESPN explain it this morning.
ahem
Go Terps!
That is all.
The University of Kentucky Wildcats.
All the Way.
Write it down.
The complaints I have are as follows:
Auburn and Alabama? As a fan of an SEC school (UK, baby) I guess it’s good that they’re in, but why? Alabama can’t win on the road and had a horrible SEC season, and Auburn isn’t that good of a team overall.
Who decided the UK-Arizona matchup everyone wanted should be a Final Four game and not the national title game?
The “pod” system is supposed to keep teams close to home, right? So why are Oregon and Utah coming to Nashville? Couldn’t one of the Spokane games come east?
As for predictions, here’s the highlights:
Don’t mess with Texas.
Yeah buddy! They’re gonna repeat!!!
screw reality
Did I misread somehow, or is Indiana ranked 7 and Purdue ranked 9?
BWAHAHAHA!
Go Hoosiers!
I like Maryland’s chances of coming out of their bracket. UNCW no problem, hopefully. Xavier is good, but from a weak conference in my opinion. They should hook up with Florida who beat them earlier this season at Cole (it’s still cole to me) but that was a different team, they were good then. Texas will be gone by then, that leaves LSU or Stanford. Maryland is defending champ and will not fade out quietly. Of course this is all coming from a huge Maryland fan.
UNCW has perhaps the best 3 point shooter in the tournament. Many an upset has happened because one player was hot at the right time. Sep warily might Terps, because Brett Blizzard is on the horizon.
As for my gripe - Kansas a 2 seed? More specifically, KU a 2 seed while 2 other Big 12 teams get 1 seeds? And then, you put them in the region of doom? Morons. Of course, I wouldn’t expect much out of a committee that couldn’t even remember to not have BYU playing on Sunday.
KU will still pull it out.
As a Notre Dame alum living in Indianapolis, can I express my glee and joy seeing them put here? Not to mention that my step-father is a Marquette alum living in Kansas City (he’s a big Mizzou fan). Hot damn, I gotta buy tickets!
I started a similar thread in Cafe. Oops.
Anyway…
Midwest
Weber State wins two games - Wisconsin and Dayton.
Southern Illinois does one better than last year, beating Mizzou, Marquette, and Pitt.
Kentucky comes out of the Midwest.
West
Notre Dame loses to UW-M, of course.
Memphis barely loses to Duke, after upsetting Kansas.
Duke comes out of the West, squeaking by Arizona.
Kentucky over Duke by a sizeable margin to go to the final game.
South
Colorado over Michigan State.
Xavier upsetting Texas to go to the Final Four.
East
Butler over Mississippi St.
Penn over OK St.
A tenuous Louisville over Oklahoma.
Syracuse to the Final Four.
Syracuse over Xavier to face Kentucky in the final.
Kentucky to win it all.
hrh
Leaving LSU or Stanford? Nah… worry about UNCW first, I’ve heard some good things about them…
In the top half of the bracket, don’t be surprised if my Uconn Huskies come out… We match up pretty well with Stanford and Texas. The talent is there. W just need to put it together a few games.
You must have been the only one.
