I’m surprised that no one has pointed out how remarkable it was for Duke to win a championship even though their interior games is “terrible by the standards of a championship contender.” Imagine how good they would have been if they didn’t have to drag Zoubek, Thomas, and the Plumlees around every game.
I really didn’t need to be Nostradamus to predict this story.
Calipari must be building a good foundation at Lexington. I wonder when any of those kids actually attended a class.
Looks like Calipari is working on bringing in another group of one-and-dones for next year. There is a cluster of uncommitted McDonalds All-Americans who, it appears, are all likely to go to Kentucky together.
I wonder if any of them will actually attend a class.
Well, I hope they will be smart enough to get what learning they can while they are there. Who knows?
It is troubling to me that Calipari seems to be setting up Kentucky to perennially rely on one-and-done players. All programs are going to get a few one-and-dones. I expect Kyrie Irving will be one-and-done, or maybe two-and-done at Duke. But building your whole program around such players? I think that probably doesn’t send a good message about your institution.
