At the end, was that her boyfriend (the original suspect, Corin Nemic) that she was cutting up? I thought it was, but my SO says it couldn’t be, because NCIS kept him in custody. My take on it, though, was that when Gibbs was saying that the guy had killed again, he knew that the girl was the real killer. And so he released them both. I think (or would hope, anyway) that Gibbs didn’t plan for the girl to kill the guy, but that maybe he thought that SHE had already killed again and was planning to catch her with the evidence of that. My SO, on the other hand, says that the guy being cut up was just some random victim and that Corin was still in custody. The problem with that, though, is that it means that Gibbs did believe that Corin was the killer, which makes him wrong in a major way, which violates a major rule of the NCIS universe.
I thought he was still in custody – which he would have been if he were an accessory (which he was), even if he wasn’t the sole bad guy.
No, I’m pretty sure that the boyfriend was still in custody. And Gibbs released the woman because he believed her to be the real killer, and he needed to follow her to get the evidence he needed against her.
While we’re talking NCIS: I’d really like to know what job Madame Director offered the colonel. Did anyone else notice that when McGeek said “Boss”, both she and Jethro answered?
I wondered how they were going to write out Abby’s dwarf boyfriend after the suicide of the actor who played him, Michael Gilden. Kind of touching, and showed a softer side to Abby.
DeHusband and I had this discussion last night. I vote for still in custody. He votes that ButcherChick was stupid to go try to finish the dismemberment.
But Ducky had earlier in the show pointed out that there were 2 people involved, one random messy person doing the killing and stashing and a methodical neat person doing the dismembering.
I kind of got the impression that he was the one doing the murders, and she found the bodies he’d stashed in her freezer. To keep him from being caught, she butchered the remains and stashed 'em. Either that, or they were working together from the beginning. Parker Lewis had to be involved, one way or the other, because he knew too much about the actual murders. I wonder how she actually got access to the crypt to stash the bodies- I don’t imagine that’d be a quick thing to do.
I just wish they’d been a bit more clear about it- but I’ve got to keep telling myself, “I don’t watch NCIS for the plot, I watch it for the characters.”
Agreed, though- it was nice to see a resolution of the relationship between Abby and her, uh, little friend.
The guy had confessed to the murders, so they had every reason to keep him in custody. They had to let lady butcher go because they had little evidence against her, especially since her boyfriend had already confessed. But Gibbs had his suspicions, which were confirmed when they opened the butcher van.
Incidentally, when did Abby and her little friend first get together? I’ve seen him on the show only once before.
