NCIS 5/25 (Might be spoilers, but who really cares?)

Either I’m remembering ‘Silent Night’ having him as a character (unseen, but heard), or my memory is just faulty. Probably the latter.

Gibbs only suggested (that we heard) for him to go stay somewhere else - don’t think he really implied “leave town and dont open the store”. And somehow I don’t think Gibbs guessed that it would be the Cartel Lady herself that went to visit dad - more likely the “right hand man” that killed Lt. Macy - so its also possible that Gibbs gave the all clear when he was killed.

(Nitpick, its a rifle, not a shotgun - was a piece of Gibbs backstory in Heartland)

I don’t understand. How is Tony Gibbs?

Speaking of the writers: what the hell is up with McGeek’s wardrobe? Yeah, I get that he lost weight. He’s mentioned it once or twice. I get it. Why is he still wearing clothes two sizes too big? I GET THAT HE LOST WEIGHT. Did the actor get it written into his contract that we must be reminded at all times that he lost weight? Get some clothes that fit!

I think you’re correct - I think Gibbs called him - but I don’t fully remember that episode right now.

“Silent Night”, sure, but hey, it was a Christmas episode; considering that they had just introduced Gibbs’ father two months earlier, and they had apparently reconciled somewhat, it was only logical to have him call his dad, but less than twenty seconds in a whole episode, and voice only hardly counts for what most people would think of as “an appearance”, but hey, I’ll count it if you like.

Vance’s Casablanca story was interesting, but was false. Bogey may well have come back for one short snippet of a take, but he didn’t nod to allow the playing of “La Marseillaise” from up on the stairs as Vance said, he did so after he had descended them.

Note at 1:07 that he is on the main floor, and there are even other cast members behind him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KL76edqCKc Sure, they may have been extras, but why would extras have stuck around after the days’ shooting was, for all intensive purposes, over (seeing that the stars had left)?

Vance makes much of this being the turning point for Bogart’s character, that with this nod, Rick was finally taking a stand. I’d have to disagree; allowing the playing of the French anthem in order to drown out the German soldiers singing “Wacht Am Rhein” is nothing more than a showing of disdain for the Germans, something Rick Blaine had already shown when he was questioned at Major Strasser’s table, when he had refused to allow the German banker into the casino, and when he had allowed Ugarti to remain, knowing full well that he had the Letters of Transit.

Actually, I think he asked him if he had someplace else he could stay for a couple of days or something like that, but we don’t know what else he said to his dad – we don’t see the rest of the call.

Well, she did say that she wanted to be the one to shoot his dad, didn’t she?

For some reason, I thought it was a shotgun, probably because it would be more logical to me for a handgun to be present instead of something hanging on the wall.

I suspect that the cartel is holding Mike’s daughter-in-law and granddaughter hostage, and that’s why he was following Paloma’s hired goon when he spotted Tony.

Yeah, but it’s gotten annoying. Gibbs hasn’t, and won’t lie to her, and he’s told her every time to just do her job. He expects no favors or protection. Yet she keeps harping on it, “we have to talk Gibbs, we have to talk Gibbs!”

What’s to talk about? She knows all the facts, doesn’t she?

I was disappointed that Abby had already made the logical leap that Gibbs killed his family’s murderer. She knows him well enough to know without needing to check, for instance, that if they encountered a child molester during a case, Gibbs would not rest until the guy was caught. Hell, she knew him well enough NOT to tell him she had a stalker, because of the certainty that he would react violently. So one would think that she would connect the dots as quickly as Ducky did. (The very instant Dr. Mallard learned that Gibbs had a wife and child who had been murdered, and that he knew who the murderer probably was, Ducky realized that Gibbs had killed him already, simply because Gibbs wasn’t currently hunting him down.) Abby’s problem is that she doesn’t think murder is ever justified, and there’s no way to call what Gibbs did anything but murder, legally. She needs a way to keep loving Gibbs.

And Abby doesn’t want to turn him in. She expects Gibbs to make an exception, or give her a wink, or to do SOMETHING to take this pressure off her. And she’s in denial about the fact that it’s never going to happen.

I’m still unclear how the lawyer was able to intercept what was apparently the only copy of Abby’s report in existence, why there is only one copy, and what she intends to do with it.

Because it would seem, in Gibbs’ mind to be groveling. I don’t know the rule number, but, I’m sure there’s one against groveling,

As Vance said - Abbie passed it directly to the Task Force - and the rep of the Task Force in the building at the time was the Lawyer - at this poiint, not sure if its the ‘only copy’ - but she did tell Gibbs she could beat it.

Interesting. I guess she practices Mexican law, too?

The fact that Gibbs was/is attracted to that lawyer really creeps me out.

Yeah, plus she’s not a redhead, either. Who could have seen it coming?
