Is Mark Harmon coming back next year? I googled to see if he was signed up for the next season but couldn’t find anything. I hope he is; otherwise I fear the show will go waaaaaaaaay downhill.
Haven’t heard anything about him leaving the show. I imagine he will be brought back in the first couple episodes to solve a crime only he can solve.
Thats my guess as well. CBS may take a week or two to decide if Michael Weatherly can carry the show, find out that he can’t, and bring Harmon back.
Was that a audible thud as Tony’s shorts filled up when Gibbs dropped the bomb?
What’s funny is a couple of weeks ago they had a bit on “a major character is outta there” on Entertainment Tonight, and they had an interview with Michael Weatherly, who said “well, there’s one thing you can count on – it won’t be Gibbs.”
There’s no freakin’ way Mark Harmon is actually leaving the show. This is just a setup for some convoluted something or other at the beginning of next season.
(Did anyone else think Shawshank Redemption on the final shot?)
Actually, I somewhat snarkily thought “Brokeback Mountain.” “Dammit Gibbs, why can’t I quit you?”
They would be absolutely insane to get rid of Mark Harmon. He’s the reason many people (including me) watch the show.
My guess is that Gibbs will be brought back to NCIS by the end of the first (or maybe second) episode of the season. Hopefully to help investigate the death of Madame Director.
From your lips to Bellisario’s ears. She annoys the pee out of me.
Yeah, there’s a chemistry-free relationship.
Brilliant idea! Let’s demand that they do this. And I would bet the farm on Mark Harmon’s return!
The show is Gibbs and crew. No Gibbs, no show.
I like the humor, myself.
Oh yeah! It’s funnier than any of the sitcoms I’ve seen this season.
Absolutely the key element in the show, IMHO. I love watching NCIS even as I note gaping holes in plots that are nonetheless cookie-cutter variety. I really liked Tony’s line two weeks ago about something having a better chance than him ‘dating Jessica Alba,’ esp good if one is aware of their history.
And there’s also this - Cote de Pablo is SMOKING hot.
I wasn’t aware of their history, but Gibbs got off a funny line once - someone asked what Ducky looked like when he was younger and Gibbs said he looked just like Illya Kuryakin - who just happens to be the character he (David McCallum) played on The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
And I agree with RikWriter. Something will happen in the first or second episode, and they’ll need him back. It will be a crime only Gibbs can solve, or a criminal from the past will be back. Is there anyone who got away?
I had to run out about 20 minutes into the show. Anybody want to fill me in on how the season ended? I’d appreciate it.
Zeva helped Gibbs get his memory back. Gibbs went to NCIS and had one of those giant video calls with some idiot military higher-up who didn’t listen to Jethro and consequently Pinpin blew up a ship. Gibbs was so upset, he quit NCIS and went to join his former boss, who’s been doing an ostrich for twenty years in Mexico.
You gotta get a Tivo.
I don’t even have cable! One thing at a time, man. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go turn the record over.
Thanks.
I loved how Gibb’s old buddy told him the details of 9/11 in a neutral, methodical voice. It was a perfect scene.
I picked up on that too. I’m laughing my ass off and my wife is just looking at me like it’s time for me to be committed to an asylum. I explained the setup and the line to her and she just looked blank.
Guess you had to be a fan of *The Man From U.N.C.L.E.*to really appreciate it.
Or really old…
