I don’t think they’ve truly gone that route. They’ve killed a lot of recurring characters, true, but only two of the regulars. I think at this point they won’t kill any more, because, unlike ER, NCIS is very character-driven. People don’t watch because they want to see the case of the week; they want to see the specific characters interact.

To each his own. I used to watch ER just to see who Luka would beat to death with his bare hands next.

Yes - she was captured by a serial killer - she managed to get him monologuing long enough for her to be rescued.

I didn’t mean that ER was ALWAYS written by monkeys. Luka’s rage was during the characters-actually-matter phase.

Yep; that’s one of the few LA episodes I watched. As soon as she got free, she rushed to the LA MTAC to so she could call Gibbs and tell him she was free, as she knew that he was (a) rushing to her rescue if she were still alive, and rushing to murder her killer if he weren’t.

I would view any pairing-off of NCIS characters as a sure sign that one or both will be dead soon.

Abby & McGee paired off at one time - but it burned through and they’re both still around.

I think this is how they will handle Tony and Ziva. It can’t last…I am not sure either of them could last with anyone.

And to be completely nitpicky about it - this happened before McGeek was an official member of Gibb’s team - he was originally stationed at Norfolk. He finally became a member of Gibb’s team in season 2, and that was after things between him and Abbie had settled out.

I don’t see them killing off either Tony or Ziva - but we might see Gibb’s kill off another wedding vow.

Agent Todd was in Seasons 1 and 2, Director Shepard was in seasons 3 thru 5.

I especially enjoyed her realization that–between people who decide to kill her for her own sake, Gibbs’s sake, Tony’s sake, and her own sake, she might as well start dating Spider-Man.
