Ducky’s assistant is not important enough to the show that it would matter one way or the other. Not him.
Abby is really high profile on the show. This would be an extremely counter-productive move. Piss a lot of fans off. Not Abby
McGee has garnered a large fan following since his debut. Producers are aware and watch these things closely. It would be really stupid to sabotage this now. Not McGee.
Kate is argueably the hottest babe on the tube right now and again I say, producers know these things. What could they possibly hope to gain by writing her out of the story at this time. (Other than the wrath of most male viewers over the age of 12). Not Kate.
Which by process of elimination leaves us poor old Ducky.
Doesn’t he go to crime scenes with Ducky all the time? I could see them being “set up” somehow, where a crime scene is really a trap or something. Come to think of it, that could get everyone out into the field … except Abby. She doesn’t ever really leave that building. Hmm.
See, that’s exactly why I think it could be him. The whole “beefing up the dialogue” thing so people remember that the guy exists – just in time for him to get killed off.
Hmm, I could see that. Personally, I wouldn’t mind Ducky getting whacked: his “boring know-it-all” act gets a little old, and they haven’t done much in the way of character development except for one or two episodes. And they could bring in another eccentric ME to replace him!
You’re right, which is why I think they gave us that little glimpse into his personal life a few weeks ago when Kate and Tony went to his apartment early and dragged him off to work - it was like Geek Heaven, and then we saw the hot chick who presumably spent the night with him. (That scene was funny as hell.)
I’m definitely in the “Anyone but McGee!” camp.
I think it will be Ducky’s new assistant. They have been giving him a slightly higher profile, as if to say, “Hey, see this guy? Don’t get too attached to him!”
He and Ducky go out in the field quite a bit - they establish a time of death or preliminary cause of death on bodies they find all the time.
No opinion on who it will be, but Ducky’s life was seriously threatened in one episode this season. It was a particularly gruesome and unpleasant episode, but basically, I don’t think they’ll kill off Ducky now.
First, gotta put in my agreement that NCIS is one helluva funny show! It is to the extreme credit of the writers and the actors that they can so consistently pull off the mixture of funny and serious, epitomized by last night’s episode wherein Tony and Kate were both cracking wise even when his death looked imminent.
But, am I really the only one who would stand up an cheer if Abby was the one to go? I despise her character, everything about her.
Kate is ok, and the actress has good comedic timing, but I don’t see her as particularly hot, she’s more just generic TV woman character. And, I think that last night’s episode could be construed as indicating that she’ll be the one to go. I mean, she made it totally, unambiguously clear that she has deep feelings for Tony. Unless they’re planning on having the show die the slow death of Moonlighting, giving that away probably means they’re planning for her to not be around next season. Either that or the “pretend it never happened” syndrome.
I don’t think it will be Ducky. They have already established a femily history of Alzheimer’s, and he has lost the thread of his rambling asides twice in the past few weeks. I think we are being set up for a “very special story arc” next year with Dr. Mallard losing his facilities.
Although McGee has grown over the past season, I think the series needs a “clueless noob” character. Would they introduce another probie if the current one were to be killed off? (Could it be the girl in his apartment?) How many have they gone through? If it is to be a major character killed I think McGee is the most expendable.
BUT, I think the most likely victim will be the assistant morgue monkey. That would tie in with my ideas about Ducky next season; consider how heart-wrenching it could be if Ducky couldn’t remember that the kid he had been grooming will not be coming back.
Ducky’s first assistant should be done rehabbing his arm, right? He’d probably love to have his job back. Maybe he’ll put out a hit on Ducky’s current assistant to clear the path!
If they make a big deal out of this; “One Agent Will Not Survive” and then knock off one minor assistant whos name no one even knows, that’d be a real cop out.
Here’s a thought. If it ain’t broke, leave it the hell alone.
That’s what I was thinking. The Expendable Red Shirt thing has been done over and over, so I thought maybe they’d actually kill someone we know. (ST:TNG did this. But why’d they have to kill Tasha instead of Wesley? :mad: )
No! Not Abby! (Nor Kate!) What’s to despise? She’s really cute, she has nice hair, I love her clothes, she has a great attitude, she’s a good foil for Gibbs
No,No,Gotta keep Abby. You’re right Johnnie , she plays off of Gibbs perfectly. And besides, how often is she the one who saves Gibbs’ ass? I love the interplay going on there( might I dare to say “sexual tension”) Abby always gives as good as she gets and sometimes even more.
So I guess all of their lives have been in serious danger already. Hmm…
Abby’s cute and smart, but the goth teenager thing wears a little thin with me. And not for one minute did I buy that she and Kate would ever have a “girl’s weekend” at a spa together! Puh-leeze!
I guess someone could do a little digging and find out which actor’s contract hasn’t been renewed. That’s be the easiest way to find out who’s going to get killed off.
I have no idea how to look for something like that, though.
I can understand that. But I’m going to be 30 this year, and I’m sitting here at work in a Care Bears t-shirt with my hair in braided pigtails, dancing with glee over my newly-purchased Star Wars tickets, so I suppose I can’t really agree.
