I think that is a deliberate part of her arc, in that she was trained from a pretty early age to be a killing machine, and was hunted for a number of years and even tortured for a time. TV Tropes calls her a Broken Bird, and yeah.
OK, gave the 4th ep. a shot, but I dunno if I’ll be sticking with this. There’s no suspense, no real drama, everything seems preordained, disjointed, uncompelling. The constant flashbacks constantly pork any of the meager dramatic momentum that an ep. might have been building up. The whole wedding thing for example has been telegraphed since the first episode, and is a pretty amateur move to keep switching back and away from it for that long, draining all drama completely out of it by the time it finally gets rolling. The two young actresses playing their daughter look pretty unalike so my sense of disbelief is unsuspended whenever both show up in the same episode.
Toasted:
I didn’t finish Season 1. The conspiracy got too complicated. Tony isn’t James Bond.
I wish they had gone with a story that reflected Tony and Ziva’s experience as NCIS investigators.
I got frustrated watching them being chased around Europe.
I did enjoy seeing the characters again.
