What does Neapolitan ice cream have to do with Naples?
My WAG: marketing.
Gelato, spumoni, etc.
I believe the people of Naples always leave the strawberry part for last also.
According to my Webster’s unabridged, Neapolitan ice cream was created in the US circa 1875. I checked a few sites and couldn’t find anything on the origin of the name. My guess would be that it gave an exotic sound to the combination of three otherwise ordinary flavors. On the Edy’s homepage, though, I did find they were selling “Girl Scouts! Back by Popular Demand! With an All-New Flavor!”
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Good one Bob!
What’s Italian for “I eat the strawberry part first”?
