The worst part is that the penalty will be so out of proportion to the crime. Our lawmakers never had to think about making a law for so heinous a crime. Makes me wish Christianity were right for once, just so these bastards would get the punishment they really deserve. Those poor, poor parents!

Umm, folks? I agree that this was gross, disrespectful of the dead, and just generally all around awful, but surely you aren’t suggesting by your calls for “no punishment great enough” and all that this is anything like worse than or even comparable to the molestation of LIVE 4-year-old child?
As dreadful as it is to contemplate how nasty and disgusting what these people did was, they didn’t actually harm a living soul. Yes, they basically caused nightmares for her family, but still…it was a dead body, not a person.

I think that it did some harm to the girl’s family. Agreed, the consequences aren’t as bad as if they had molested a live child. I do believe that the act speaks worse for their psychological health than if they had molested a live child.

I was reading a thread in which someone expressed a view that child molesters are no worse than prostitutes. That kind of thing just gets me furious. Adding that comment here was inappropiate though, and I’m sorry about that.

It’s completely disgusting but much more common than one would think.
When my Fiance was in medical school there was someone in the morgue at the hospital that would charge men who wanted to look at the dead bodies of young women.
Those poor parents…There child dies, and the next day they are under investigation for sexual assault. Damn.
