yokan - You can always go the pawnshop route, since you expect to be able to repay soon. I’ve never done it, but you can get short-term cash that way and get your stuff back. If you’re in Tennessee, I’m willing to pay someone $8.50/hr to help me do some work on the farm. I need some fenceline cleared and I want to fence in my yard.

I did an alcohol study last year. A girl showed up to it (the study was a Friday afternoon) and didn’t blow a 0 on the breathlyzer.
And the study just showed me that even ONE drink makes you very impaired. They had us do visual puzzles before and after the drink - like, find the next pattern in this sequence, read an SAT style story and answer questions. I didn’t even feel buzzed and I really sucked at the post-drink questions.
They should do the alcohol study on anyone with a DUI. It’ll prove how bad things really are.
I made $80 getting an MRI a few weeks ago. Do the psych experiments and donate plasma.

University and college psych websites. If that fails, call the main # and ask.
Universities, research hospitals. Sometimes drug companies will advertise for paid “guinea pigs” for potential new drugs in local papers, but you have to fit a certain profile (e.g. be 45 and older and have had a hysterectomy).
Craigslist also has a “Gigs” section. I met a guy at church , and when I asked him what he did, he said “Gigs!”. Turns out every time there’s a triathlon or a big sports event, Energy drink companies, as well as others, pay people to hand out samples/brochures/etc. … and those are listed in the Gigs section.
Just checked, and our “Gigs” also list Giving Out Samples In Grocery Stores. You could call up a temp agency, but it might take too long to get paid.
I have friends that play (mediocre) guitar on The Big Street That Students Walk On (State St. in Madison, WI, but all college towns have one). I asked one of them, and he pulls in $20-30/hr, and it ain’t cause he’s the Carlos Ray Clapton of State Street…

BigBertha, do be advised that these aren’t psych experiments but actual drug experiments; they will slather on a cream or have you take a pill to see your reaction. Most of these require that you are on NO medication at all at the time - including birth control. Many others will require you to be of a certain type: under 35 occasional smoker. Things like that. The psych experiments usually only involve thinking/doing things, no unknown drugs of sorts.

You know, I didn’t remember how I signed up since I’ve been a member for so long but I just looked it up and apparently you have to be invited to become a member. They send you a letter if you’re selected. Guess that won’t help you, but if you do ever get a letter from them I can attest to the fact that they’re legit.
