Well, actually, my dad’s new pickup. New to him, that is.
It’s a 1976 Chevy shortbed 4 x 4. Once tangerine orange, it’s now painted primer gray. It has a 6" lift and tall tires, making it look like a stereotypical hillbilly rig.
He’s asked me to name it. I’m coming up blank so I turn to the Dope for help.
Ideas, anyone?
Levi. Drove your Chevy name of Levi until the Levi was dry.
Since it’s a '76 name it TJ in honor of Thomas Jefferson. He did something or other in '76.
Daisy Duke, with the appropriate artwork on the hood.

It’s grey, wide, and very slow. My choice, which was shot down, was “Eeyore the Reluctant”.
Well, I liked it.
Sounds like the shark from Jaws . Did it have a name?
How about “The Chevy,” unless you have other Chevies. In which case try “The pick-up” or “The 4x4.”
Cars are not ships. I think some people would name their pogo stick.
Lloyd. As in Lloyd the truck, then unLloyd the truck.
Ernest, as in “Hiya, Vern!”

I had a friend who used to drive a supreme hulk of a car, and I referred to it as The Nostromo.
Big and dull gray. I’d go with a military ship.
Maybe Bismarck or USS Gettysburg , which kinda looks like a pickup.
Alternately, Galactica or Star Destroyer, depending on your affiliation.
Tommy.
All my trucks are named Tommy.
