Need a substitute for a French hair care product

I, like many other Americans, am boycotting French products … and actually had already been doing so years, long before it became the popular thing to do. Or so I thought. :dubious: I just discovered that the hair volumizer I’ve been using for the past few months is made in France! It is a spray called Phytovolume Actif and is actually the best volumizer I’ve found yet…

It works very well because it is a spray rather than a gel, so it doesn’t weigh too heavily on my hair. And it gives my hair body without stiffening it or “drying it out”. In the words of the above linked page:

Yes, there are many other volumizers out there, but if anybody truly familiar with hair care products can name a non-French product that is equivalent to Phytovolume Actif, I would be most grateful. I’d been looking for years for a good volumizer for my type of hair (thin, limp) … finally found one … and then find out it’s made in freakin’ France. Sheesh! :smack:

 I am an American who has not boycotted French products and who loves visiting France and who enjoys French people. I cannot understand the boycott thing, but that is not the OP.

Paul Mitchell makes a great sculpting foam. Made in the USA. Does not stiffen. Does not dry out.Smells good. But not cheap.

This may not be that easy for you to do. L’Oréal is the single largest haircare company in the world. Lots ot companies that you think are American will turn out to be French. Then many of te remaining ones are German (Beiersdorf, Henkel & Schwartzkopf, although Wella is now part of Procter & Gamble), and I imagine that you have an ideological problem with that too.

Personally, I have an ideological problem with your stand, so I won’t help you, so there.

Font chier, les 'ricains, parfois.

“Many Americans”? More like a handful. And it gets smaller every day as people realize just how silly that whole diplomatic feud was.

If you’re gonna boycot every country that disagrees with us on foreign policy, then you’re gonna end up living a pretty spartan lifstyle. Throw out any jeweley that you have, because it all comes from countries that opposed the war. Same goes for most of the clothing that you’re wearing. You might want to buy a shitload of yarn and knit your own garments. I don’t think that there any shoes that are made in the USA, so who knows what you’ll do for footwear. And any car that you buy, even an American one, has a lot of foreign-made parts in it. (and don’t even think about owning a Chrysler product; they’re owned by the Germans, you know.) So it looks like you’re gonna be walking everywhere.

All your hair care product are belong to us!

Sorry, I could not resist - and I’m not even French…
