beyond the cliche strip club and getting wasted in a bar that is.
The groom is 27, drinks and is something of a gear head. The party will be in the Twin Cities area in two weeks. He said he’d like to go to Pro Kart so we’ll do that, but does anyone have any other cool ideas?
At one friend’s party, we played Whirlyball, which is a strange sport you play on little bumper-car-type conveyances. You drive with one hand, and in the other you have a “scoop” that you use to catch, pass, and shoot a whiffle ball at an overhead “goal”. It was pretty darn fun. I scored twice, including one over-the-head “skyhook” shot I was mighty proud of.
Another friend had an all-night computer gaming party at a local place called “LAN Force”. They have dozens of gaming consoles and high-end computers loaded with current games. I remember playing a lot of Unreal, Counterstrike, and Warcraft III. Think I left around 5 AM. If the attendees would be into that, you might see if you can find a local place.
See what the costs are for renting a bar out for the night. Hire a blackjack dealer and some entertainment, and watch college basketball. If the group isn’t very large, find a bar that rents out a back room, so that you still have access to groups of other people for when the single guys in the group want to go drunkenly hit on women.
I second Munch’s idea. I rented out a private room at a sports bar, had lunch and drinks there, then tailgated a baseball game (brought a ton of tailgate games), went to the game, then casino, then bar. It was a long day but only cost about $125 per person.
If it was my bachelor party I’d want a guys weekend up the mountains playing cards, horseshoes, drinking, etc…
